I think it will be a good battle. I would man Revis on T.O, Lito on Lee, Lowery on Reed. Kerry deep the way Ed Reed did when ravens played the cowgirls. With rolling help to Lito side. Thoughts.
Oh man I'd love to see Revis shut down Owens and have that precipitate the inevitable TO disaster in the Bills' locker room
i agree revis should be on evans, he is more of a vertical threat. If Owens is used on the shorter routes as anticipated then Sheppard would be better suited for that job with a safety for support. Then Lowery in nickel for Parrish or Reed
Revis faced TO as a rookie on thanksgiving. He did a good job on him, allowed a TD pass but outside that he was nt much of an impact.
Like A Pack of Slobbering Wolves...!! As I said elsewhere, our DBs will be licking their chops at T.O. and Evans and Reed. Don't forget that either.
Take TO out of the game. Let Revis cover him all day; Lito with safety help against Evans. Assuming we'll have some sort of passrush next season, we should be fine with these matchups.
That's the safest bet. Let Sheppard and Rhodes/Leonhard cover TO and put Revis on the vertical threat. That'll shut them down perfectly.
combinations of all these will work. hopefully the idea is that the coverages are so well diguised with the pass rush and 'backer play that we won't know who's covering who until the play is over.
Yeah Buffalo's offensive line is a mess, our front 7 should have our way with them taking a lot of pressure off our secondary
Yeah Baby !!! ... Easiest way to take Evans and TO out of the game is to sit Edwards on his A** 10x ....
Funny this thread came up cause just yesterday my Supervisor comes into my office and tells me (this story will deviate from the topic but will return to it eventually) T.O. signed with the Bills. I tell him, "Yeah I know. Not too worried about it really". He goes, "Who the hell do the Jets have to cover Owens and Evans?". Being that he's a Patriots fan, I responded with, "And who the hell do the PATRIOTS have to cover T.O. and Evans?" To which he said, "Oh, Belichick will know how to take care of those guys. You'll see." Then I give him the run down on how Revis did a decent job at shutting down T.O. his rookie year and since he's gone on to be a Pro Bowl shut down corner. He responded with, "Revis is good, but he's not that good" which signaled the end of our discussion. Getting back to the topic at hand, I think our DB's line up really well against the Bills. Not only will they line up well, but their task will become much easier simply by the play from our front seven. You take Edwards out of the game, and T.O. and Evans will follow. I actually agree with this. Also Lito should be able to keep up with and hold his own against Evans because he's pretty fast, so I can see different defensive combos on the field which can really fuck with Edwards' head.
here is my response http://replay-re-cutter.nfl.com/clip.aspx?key=E456374754C023F6&ctx=myclips&type=image the first few scenes depict how to attack the Bills passing game, while the final few scenes show the results if the attack is performed correctly
Leave Revis out on an island with TO and throw Sheppard and a safety on Evans. (As long as that safety isnt Elam of course)
