No thanks. He's had the worst season last year since his rookie year 1999. He will be 33 before the season starts. I'm ok signing him for 1yr only but he will ask for at least 3 year deal. Give our young receivers a chance this year see what we've got. It will be a developing year anyway.

A QB getting killed is in terms of performance is the equivalent of something worse than what we will bring out next year with decent protection

Example: Bulger had the 2nd worst QB rating in football even Dan Orlovsky was better, only guy that was worse was Ryan Fitzpatrick.

I can almost tell you right now that with status quo we can do better than that

    Torry Holt>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Curtis Conway

Plus, to the OP's point, there are plenty of examples of good-to-great number 1 receivers having success with a team different from their original one, late in their respective career.

Maybe it's just me but Bulger reminds me a bit of Ken O'Brien. A guy who was beat up a few years and finally became shellshocked.

    I'd pass on Bulger.

I'd take Tory Holt for a year and see how it pans out. but I doubt he'd be inclined to risk bad numbers for a year in an offense without a QB and jeopardize his next contract. unlike Lito Shepard, whose contract can essentially be a one year deal, who expects to shine in a great defense and raise his value whether we keep him or not, a receiver can't anticipate that with the Jets offense next year, so taking a "1 year deal" is a big risk.

So a big no to Tory Holt but you openly promote a 35 year old, mental midget like TO for the Jets?

Actually wanting TO in your lockerroom is utter lunacy of the highest degree. Especially in NEW YORK.

Provided the financial aspects worked out well, I'd love to see Holt in a Jet uniform. He stays out of trouble, doesn't create controversy. He's been very consistent with the Rams with the exception of last year, and frankly I think he had a hell of a year last year considering how bad the team was. I think he still has plenty good years remaining. Certainly would be an upgrade over Coles.
You won't hear any real talk from any team until after March 17 (roster bonus due then), and I'm sure he won't end up with the Jets, but it would be nice. My guess is that his asking price will end up being too much. But that aside, I'd rather take him at 33 years old than paying a rookie that may or may not amount to what Holt already is. Plus I'm biased, he's from NC State.

I hope we sign Holt and still draft a WR in the early rounds

I'd be ok with signing Holt as long as it's for less than what Coles was supposed to make. As of now priority number one should be directed towards resigning our own players to long-term deals.

Exactly. WR is two players down right now.

That'd be a nice sentiment if we weren't missing a WR.

Big Game would be a great signing. He still has something left in the tank.
