Agreed in principle, but offer has not signed. Scott took offer back to Ravens and letting Ravens make an offer. Cannizzaro thinks Scott will end up with the Jets based on his conversations. "Jets need him and will make it happen since the Jets really need it". Ravens at 42 million, jets at 40 million.
Is he really an insider? Anybody on this board can make shit up and claim to be an insider. Just like this....... A source close to the Jets has told me that the team is close to bringing Don Maynard and Joe Namath back to recreate one of the greatest QB-WR combos in league history.
Were Jets, Bart Scott Not on the Same Page? Friday, February 27, 2009 Posted By Mike Florio 4:19 PM A strange situation unfolded on Friday after linebacker Bart Scott arrived in New York. Amid reports that Scott had agreed to terms, word eventually surfaced that he was still giving the Ravens a chance to match. So what happened? One league source with knowledge of the dynamics tells us that there was a misunderstanding between the terms discussed between the Jets and Scott before he arrived at the team facility and the terms of the deal once it was reduced to writing. The reason for the misunderstanding isn't known. The outcome of the misunderstanding is that the Ravens are still in play to keep Scott. Per the source, although other teams were interested in Scott, the decision is expected to come down to the Ravens or the Jets.
That's exactly what Lewis is doing and it sucks.. Kick them both the fck off the property and let them call a cab back to Newark Airport..
You guys shouldn't be taking this personal. It's a business and this is his last chance to break the bank. Keep telling yourself it's a business and if you had the means to leverage one job against another and the difference was in the millions you would take advantage as well. The difference is millions, it doesn't matter what your bank statement already says - a few million dollars spends the same regardless.
