Yup. I would give him one shot. A million dollar bonus check to sign right now, or escort him out of the bldg.

I seriously don't think you get it. By the Jets constantly sticking around and upping offers we become the tool of free agency.

The new coaching staff needs to set a precedent that the Jets are no longer going to be the whipping boy of the NFL. If pulling an offer for a player that doesn't want to be here is the way to start, that is what they should do.

Move their attention to players who are truly looking for a new home, not just trying to get their current team to raise their offer.

No, you don't get it. There isn't an inside linebacker on the market that's more valuable than Bart Scott.

You don't pull an offer on a player as valuable as Scott.

I'm pretty sure Brad Kassell would like to be a Jet again - let's drop Scott and re-sign him to start in the middle. It makes PERFECT sense.

Sadly, at this point we have already been screwed.

Mark my words. If we do sign Scott he will not meet our expectations.

Its all about the $$$$$$$$. My guess and this will kill me is the Ravens will match the offer not wanting to lose Scott and the JETS will wind up with Ray Lewis instead. Im ok with Lewis but prefer a much younger Scott.

But the team he was on didn't think that way. We were overpaying for his services to start with. If we weren't overpaying, many a club (some with more cap space) would have been bidding on him.

I heard that he is going to wait until the Lewis signs with the Cowgirls. This way he will be more valuable.

Ok, I made that up. :)

but again even if ravens do match it who is to say we cant go a little higher. i doubt they will make a second time. i read that he was given an offer by 3 other teams for more money but turned it down bc he either wants to play for the ravens or the jets.

The GM of the Jets has made it clear that the Jets are not building through the draft. We have traded out picks and cleared dead wood for a reason, this team wants to draft one or two high quality players every year and fill in with FA's. We are the whipping boys of FA and it makes no sense to pull the deal if we want the guy. There is a difference between not wanting to be here and the inability of our GM to close the deal properly.
