Here is a guy that has done NOTHING except EXCEED at every turn what has been asked of him. Why is it that "Buttheads" persist in comparing a ne'er-do-well mediocrity like Pete Kendall to somebody who has done nothing but perform better and better since he got here...? Mr. Tannenbaum, there is no excuse for not rewarding (whose reward you agreed to define already) the performance from a Big Ugly that you asked him for? What the hell are you doing?!????? Allowing people to challenge the honor and viability of the NYJs when some player does what you've asked him to do? You say no? You say, I'm sorry we're not going to do what we contracted to do for you? Brandon Moore certainly doesn't need the likes of a lowly non-entity such as "notjustQBs" to defend him, that's for sure. But the 'great unwashed' "electorate" ticketholders that populate that stadium every week the NYJs play there... They expect the BEST from these players... Brandon Moore has consistently delivered the BEST that he can possibly deliver on that offensive line... He's home grown, and everybody at Giants Stadium (now that's a "non sequitur" of a 'brand' name) knows it! What do we do with our home grown? We stomp them down into the bricks when they get to that market value recognized? Understand, NYJs...! We are the ones who created Brandon Moore's marketability. We are the ones who signed the contract that said he would get $7 million this March. Now this voice that you hear here...well, it's not an AGENT, and it's not a FLACK, or a COACH ...its just one of those poor dumb guys who pays for his ticket retail...just like most of those who choose to bleed green and white... I'm just saying that we NEED TO PAY ATTENTION TO OUR VERY OWN... Don't do nothing else FIRST....!!
He hasn't been cut. And I feel that if the Ravens sign Bart Scott, the Jets may reconsider paying Moore the money he deserves. We need to keep this OL together and not create Moore holes.
$7 mil can get us a pretty darn good free agent, and the line will still be very good. I've come to trust Tannenbaum's decisions, he knows what he's doing. I do not, however, like the trend of losing home-grown or very good players because we won't pay up (Coles, Thomas, McKenzie, Abraham, Kendall, etc.) and then seeing them blossom elsewhere. I could see Moore being the next guy in that list, but again, for $7 mil, I'm willing to take that risk.
It is a mistake if we cut him. As big as a mistake as Trading Abraham or drafting D-rob imo. We are going to rely on our line this year if we want a win so we can't just cut a starter without a replacement.
everyone stresses about time to gel the oline, plus is it safe to assume the run blocking will be worse with the new guy
nothing will be as big of a mistake as drafting D-Rob...but i agree with the second part completely. Doesn't make sense to cut Moore unless we sign Brown if the Ravens decide to cut him and move him to guard instead of center which apparently Brown wants to do. All in all, we should keep Moore.
He is good player whose contract will player him like a great player, he wont renegotiate (nor should he) so both sides move on.
