S Jim Leonhard to sign with Jets, Jets vs. Dolphins on Scott?

I agree he hasn't been cut. And I actually don't think he will be cut. The national football post is anything but a rag of an internet site.

 

I'm pretty sure he will be cut by the end of the week. Reports have said that we've met with his agent and things did not turn out well for renegotiaions.

We haven't cut him yet, and I couldn't find anything on the first page confirming it, unless rumor threads are fact now.

 

It is very possible that we may keep Brandon Moore now. I don't think the Jets realized that they would be this far under the cap before FA

 

i only read the first post of the thread that said it was offiicial. i assumed if nfl network ran it that it was correct. my bad.

 

i will reserve my judgement until i see what we sign him for. i am not terribly thrilled with this signing. hopefully i am wrong.

 

Pardon my ignorance here but can someone give me a "scouting report" on Scott? I know im an asshole here but I guess whenever I watch the Ravens the cameras are always on Lewis and Reed. I cant honestly sy that I have lots o' Scott memories in my mind

 

I'm having flashbacks to Bill Parcells signing Jerome Henderson after he came over and then Herm Edwards going for Damien Robinson after he came over. I guess what that says is that safety is a very under-rated position in the NFL since coaches want THEIR veteran safety back there in the first season. I also don't think either of the previous signings worked out that well. Robinson was expensive as I recall and not all that impactful and we lost Victor Green, who was impactful, as a cap casualty the next season.

 

Damien Robinson was the first player that came to mind when I started reading about Ryan's interest in Leonhard.

I'm sure when Mike Tannenbaum saw Mr. Lombardi's report he was like "Well crap! I didn't realize we had this much money."

Not to rip on you, but I'm sure the FO had a solid understanding of where they would be, want to be, and who would have to be let go in order to get there

 

It's been days since the rumor that he was cut first surfaced and it apparently hasn't happened. That would make me think they are working a deal.

 

When did these happen? Is this confirmed. If so, WOO-HOO!

 

We hope. I have hope for Ryan, but until he proves he can be a good head coach, and do it without a roster like the Ravens have and a GM like Ozzie, the jury is out.
