• On the Jets' need for a weak-inside linebacker: "Exactly. I can go in there and I can guarantee all that running, coming up the middle, that's going to stop." Hmm... I really like that part.
he sounds like a cocky piece of shit putting himself in the same class as suggs and lewis. seems like the guy who'll grab the big bucks from us and chill, ala gholston
except for the fact that we already had that down last season (as long as jinx was healthy), and what we really need is a guy that can cover the middle, WR and TE alike
most of these Ravens Defensive players carry the same attitude Bart Scott displayed in that article. This is exactly what the Jets need.....the confident-cocky attitude. Bart Scott would fit in well here, IMO.
I'd love to see him in Green and White. He'd be great at covering the middle which is one area we definitely need help.
He is easily as good as those two. Only thing he doesn't have is Suggs pass rushing but that's why he plays the Inside!
I really want him, and more importantly Rex knows the guy better than anyone so if we go after him I fully expect him to be a big time contributer.
just the thought of potentially having Scott and Harris in the middle is scary, should be interesting when free agency starts.
The Jets need a pass rusher more than a run stopper at this point. If they are going to spend big bucks in free agency, I'd want someone who can get to the QB.
I agree. Although Jenkins definitely needs a solid backup. The run defense was good until they ran him into the ground.
Calvin Pace, Bryan Thomas, and God willing Vernon Gholston are our primary rush type players. These guys all have the skills to be able to get after the quarterback so don't judge them from last season based on Mangina's pussy defense. Pace is going to have a monster year under Rex
