OK lets get back to the original topic...it was never about Vick's character....his habits...his leadership. It was about an "all weather O"
A QB that can run. Do you think it would take the smash-mouth style to another level. No cute shit, just another option to move the chains and score some points.

Also, let me add to the "leadership" argument. The QB won't be leading this team.....Rex will be leading this team - make no mistake about that.

Yeah I think I remember that, actually. Suspension or coin, or both? If they don't suspend him, there will be teams willing to go after him, though not at his current rate. He's going to cost whatever team he goes to 15M this year alone. Also, he's been in prison...he could either be REALLY fit haha, or not fit. Either way it won't be football fit. It's a sketchy situation at best.

Really though, if they could get a highly mobile QB it would be interesting to see it integrated into a ground game.

He may be suspended for a few games, but even then I still seriously doubt that Goodell will give him the axe for all of 2009

Well then what exactly would it take to get a full seasons suspension? getting caught on roids 4 separate times? If getting two years in jail doesnt get you a year's suspension I seriously would love to know what will.

With this being his only offense, yeah I doubt it, Jamal Lewis went to jail for being a part of drug trafficking and he only got a 4 game suspension

Whether you like it or not the commish will still have to account for the time he served already

You really think you could bring up vick and not have post about his past? Come on. I would be pissed if this guy was given a job on the ground crew cuting grass. He is a low life loser.

Calling Vick a QB is an insult to QBs.

He is just a glorified RB

If he is not picked up which is a possibility it is because of media influence more than anything else.
    That's the scary part

I don't want any of them, you brought them up to compare to Vick. I want to see what one of our young guys with experience in the system can do. If I HAD to choose one of those three Vick would be my last choice.

Basically all you're saying is that Vick is good for a running game. I can't disagree with that and I really don't think it needs to be said. Someone on here suggested Vick as a good wildcat QB - I think that's a great idea for someone to use him as a situational player. As for the passing game, meh, he's very inaccurate, not a leader, and not smart.

The Jets are probably going to become primarily a run-oriented offense. Vick would add another dimension to the run game and be the perfect Wildcat quarterback. In a lot of ways, I think he'd be a good fit if not for all the baggage, but I don't think we need another media circus because of a quarterback acquisition.

I wonder if anyone will be interested in trading for the rights to Vick. It's going to be a PR nightmare for whatever club is willing to do so. They better be prepared for protests outside the stadium, in addition to all the bad press they are sure to receive.

Not to mention, the guy has been out of the game for 2 years. I know he's a gifted athlete, but that's still a long time to be out of football.

I'm just glad to see that the Jets have declared that they have no interest in trading for his rights.

Wasted badwidth... like so many other threads at this time of year.

Forget everything else for a moment... Woody Johnson has a very large consumer products company to run. If the Jets ever took Vick, not only would the PETA whackos boycott Johnson & Johnson products, so would thousands of pet owners from the AKC to whatever other myraid canine and pet groups are out there.

NEVER gonna happen. Pure hypotheitcal, which is what most of these threads are about... dreams with little connection to realities. Ray Lewis? Bah! Boldin? Ha!

I see people start threads saying the Jets need this or that, and they haven't got a clue. We as fans can't even level good guesses at what the Jets need, because only the CS knows that. They know hat D scheme they want to run, we have no clue.

    Vick... pure fantasy land discussion.

Aye-yigh, this again?! I only opened it to say that Michael Vick hasn't been REINSTATED yet. It makes it sillier to speculate on anything about anything in light of that. Obviously Vick's agent as well as the media feel compelled to line up all of Vick's little piggies in a row, fully expecting Goodell to turtle. I suspect he will, but oh, how the jaded do love surprises...

    Who wants that headache?

PETA protestors will outnumber Coach Box PSL bidders.

Woody does not, and never has had anything to do with the company Johnson & Johnson, other then being related to the founder.

The only company he runs is his private investment firm and the New York Jets.

    ^ he's a little wrong.

we were in the running, then out, then at the last second swooped in and got him.
