Umm....Warner was a Defensive-Stop away from Beating Pittsburgh and winning it all. It wasn't him, Fitzgerald, or the offense in the end that failed him..... :steelers:
I know that and there is no need to give me such an attitude, Fourth. I was merely correcting sour's inaccurate statement regarding Warner and the Cards.
I agree. if he couldn't go 80 yards in 30 seconds to throw a 5th TD in the Super Bowl, what chance does he have of ever beating the Steelers ever again? clearly, Kurt Warner lost that game for them, or was a significant reason why they didn't win. he only threw the go ahead TD with 2 and a half minutes to go in the game. I wouldn't want a guy with that ability. if he can't put his defense in a position to make a stop and win the game, what good is he?
so, because we don't that means Warner was the reason the Cards lost the game? nice comprehension skills.
I thought Fourth's point was that Boldin and Fitzgerald, and for that matter Breaston, made Warner look far better than he would on the Jets.
No that means it is the reason Warner can not get the Jets to the Sb with the Pats, Steelers, Chargers and Colts in the Afc with our Defense and Coles and Cotchery to throw to instead of Boldin and Fitzgerald. That is the true fact to comprehend.
I tend to agree, but I really would like to see how Ratliff does with the first stringers which will not be answered until pre-season, and even then, it is not necessarily a good barometer.
If Ratliff does start I don't think we need to sign a guy just to be a backup..Clemens is a serviceable backup at least.
Wow, you make him sound like the second coming of Joe Namath, are you related to Ratliff or something? I mean the guy had one good camp and a decent preseason but lets remember he was playing in those games in the 3rd and 4th quarters when the other teams scrubs, who most of them probably didn't even make their teams, were in the game. I hope he does blow everyone away and is this great QB who the Jets have for many years to come but I need to see more then just good 4th quarter preseason games to make me want to invest in him long term.
To anyone who would rather go with a proven failure over an unproven potential winner... please explain what exactly makes the proven loser more appealing?
I know where you are coming from, but seriously, Clemens only had 2 seconds to throw the ball if he was lucky, behind the 2007 O line. I still remember Clemens getting pancaked to the nth degree hardly one second after the snap from Seymour when we were inside our own 5 yard line. I remember Clarke and there was another human turnstile we had that was just God awful. Our O line is way better than it was in 2007; I am prepared to give Clemens or if it turns out to be Ratliff the benefit of the doubt.
