Favre finally shows some class. After all the retirement crap he's pulled over the years Favre didn't screw the Jets. It's not the fact that he retired, it's the fact that he actually made a decision in a timely manner without all the BS. And the Jets should be grateful for that.

As far as the current QB situation goes, I believe the Jets will look at the draft, try out a lot of the QBs and see what's there. If they really like someone it wouln't suprise me if they move up to get them (see Sanchez for example). Clemens is not the answer and although he's looked great in minimal action I don't think anyone knows what the team has in Ratliff. If they don't like either of these guys they will probably go after a veteran QB as insurance and have Ratliff, Clemens, and Ainge battle it out. In any case I truly hope they don't go after another old over the hill QB.

The Jets can be competitive now. I hope with Ryan they can finally establish a vision and build through the draft like Tannenbaum said ages ago (more lies?). I think Rex can be a great coach. Hopefully, he's not handicapped by an inept management.

If Ratliffe is the starter I will rip my hair out.

I hope they make a move past the niners and take Sanchez.

Well we spent the best portion of yesterday looking at the 2009 NFL draft class, i really wouldn't be surprised to see us move up (If needed) and take sanchez or even maybe take a shot on Freeman in the 2nd.

Don't be surprised if Ratliff is the starter this season, at least at the beginning. But Sanchez will be a Jet, and I cannot wait for that.

Ratliff needs to prove that he is a starter 1st... I like the guy a lot, but I want him to play against the 1st string in pre season and do very well there too before I even think about making him the starter for this team.

baby steps with him, it took Romo 4 years before he was a starter. Ratliff seems to be following the same path right now.

He's probably still a year away.

ratliff did well in the preseason with second string players, when he goes against first string defenders, hell have his first string o-line. he played well, and deserves a shot

USC Qb's are Frauds!!! Leinart, Booty and Sanchez to Follow! Stay away from Usc Qb's. Only Carson Palmer was worth his draft slot.

Dont the reports say that he has told the jets that he "plans" on retiring. I personally think everyone is jumping the gun here. Until he actually retires im not getting my hopes up.
