Michael Vick Lite. Without the cannon for an arm. Terrible idea.

He is special teams player--- not a starting QB.

His arm is fine, and I have the film from preseason 06' to prove it. It's his decision making that is the problem, and what a problem it is. If Ben Roethlisberger holds on to the ball too long, then Brad Smith is waiting for Jesus to come back when he is under center.

Edit - Sorry, it is 07' preseason.

I don't know if he's a QB first...until this past season, he had more career rushing yards than any other QB in college football. That sounds kind of like a QB who likes to run first.

the QB position is not a plug and play position like Linebacker.

    please commit that to memory.

I don't even like him in the Offense period! let alone the QB.

I guess 4,489 passing yards and 30 passing TD s don't sound like a QB either

Ran for over 4,000, passed for over 8,000. He was a great college QB.

We should work him at QB – then there would be one more thing we could say he was inept at.

Yeah he was a great college QB. He is great on special teams. Maybe Rex will be able to utilize him better than Mangini did.

I guess the entire league was wrong about Brad Smith, and it's time we consider going with a quarterback who can run fast and throw far but can't hit the broadside of a barn.

Accuracy is not the issue with Brad Smith. Swing and a miss.

Brad is fun to watch. Maybe the Jets will have a look at him at the QB spot in pre-season. Anything's possible!

I do think it is dumb that we never let him throw any passes when he was in the wildcat.

What kind of system did Brad Smith play in College? I highly doubt it was a Pro-Offense
