Draft a guy with break away speed in the 1st round. a LB in the 2nd and keep building from there and if favre come's back and he's healthy knowing the playbook better can be better then he was. If he retire's we get under the cap and maybe sign a good free-agent. well see what rex is made of.
it is what it is....time for all the Free Agency threads to start popping up....followed by all the "Who're the Jets gonna take at #17" draft threads.......life is a pretty sweet fruit
Your not kidding bud. I to seem oddly happy going in to next season and have little idea why. We had a epic collapse in the final 5 weeks. We looked damn good in the weeks leading up to that. I guess not know what team rex is bringing to the feild is better then knowign I'll be seeing Mangini's/Sutton's pussy ass defensive calls this year.
The unknown is your friend. The couple of times we've been seemingly loaded up and primed to win it all, it's come crashing down pretty hard pretty quickly.
Thats ok guys. Next year at this time we'll be celebrating a super bowl win. HAHAHAHA. I used that joke like 4 times last night at the super bowl party I was at last night and everyone laughed like it was the funniest shit ever. I'm tired of this shit. Every year it's another superbowl with two teams I either hate or don't care about, and all I can do is place a wager so I at least care a little. But there's nothing I can do because I have so many jets jerseys, shirts, hats, tickets, logo's forged out of gold to put on my gold chain etc, so I'll just piss and moan like an impotent jerk.
I am as well. I expect this to be the year the Jets turn the corner, not last season. Hence the reason I questioned the Favre move. I really think the D will finally be a beast, the whole season through. Just shore up that secondary.
Not everything needs to be quantified with stats. The Jets are a damn good team and we're getting a damn good coach. There's a lot to look forward to these next few years. Definitely not the SoJ.
Yeah, I was thinking about that yesterday, even during the Superbowl. Yesterday was the 50th anniversary of their second to last concert date, which was played in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Richie Valens' brother was up here for a memorial concert the other week. I was half expecting Springsteen to make a quick tribute, but I realize the setting was not appropriate. By the way, they actually died 2/3, so tomorrow is the anniversary.
Here's where we darksiders are most comfortable. We expect nothing from the Jets and usually, we're rewarded in kind. I'm ok with not contending in '09. I'm not OK with our franchise being held up by a carpetbagger from Miss. though. I know damn well that this team isn't gonna compete for the VLT in '09 but I do expect improvement either in philosophy or performance. If not, I would be the 1st to admit I'm wasting my time even being involved with this franchise after 40+ years. I may not be rich, but my time is worth something to me more than listening to endless exclamations and proclimations about "next year". Fck next year. I've seen 41 so far. I'm optimistic about Ryan and his new attitude. I'm hoping that TanWoody doesn't tamp that down to the usual vanilla, keep to the script Bs that we've gotten from every Jet coach since Parcells. Fck it. 2 tears in a bucket... as we used to say back in the day.
you think the jets will have some kind of commemorative patch that they will wear for the 50th anni? just curious
I think all the original AFL teams will wear the same patch to honor the 50th season. This will also be the Cowboys 50th season so they will probably do something as well.
