Knowshon Moreno...wouldnt mind that pick. He's a local guy. I saw him play a few times in HS and he was a beast!! Had a hell of a year at Georgia too.

However, I still think we need to go defense with the first pick. CB/S/LB preferably... Save the offense pick till a later round.

Darrius Heyward-Bey is as good and faster of a WR as Percy Harvin but 3 inches taller.

I'm surprised so many mocks have us taking Harvin, or even an offensive guy for that matter. I really see us going defense in the first round, and unless something rediculous happens and like Crabtree drops to us or something, think its all but a garuntee. Besides i think we are set at WR this year. we don't have a consensus duo that people want to cut, to drop from 6 recievers to 5, while adding a guy into the mix. Honestly I would be surprised if we don't go secondary with our first pick. Either we trade down, go secondary at 17, or trade up to the top 12 range to grab the top guy at a particular position of need who slid some.

I'd be fine with either Moreno OR Harvin.

And I'd rather go offense first round this year.

    no to Moreno

that is by far are least worry this year. we have two good guys on the team sharing the touches already.

As some people have already said, I'd be surprised if we go offense in the first round. First, Rex is obviously a defensive minded coach and I think he's going to want to go defense with the first pick. Maybe LB, CB, or FS. Secondly, our pass defense was awful down the stretch last year and definitely needs to be shored up before this season.

As to Moreno and Harvin, I wouldn't mind either of them. TJ is over the 30 year mark and we all know what that means. I don't think Washington can handle being an every down back. As for Harvin, I don't know if he will translate into a great NFL player, but it would be pretty exciting to have him and Washington on the field together. That could definitely create some mismatches for most defenses.

What can Harvin do that Leon cannot?

I'd be furious with that pick, the recent UF WRs have not fared well at all (Chad Jackson-he was supposed to be the next big thing, Reche/Andre Caldwell, Dallas Baker, Jabar Gaffney) and pure burners like Ted Ginn, Troy Williamson have shown that they do not warrant a first round, let alone top 20 pick.

But, when we draft Harvin, we won't just be drafting a player, we'll be drafting his entire family!

Everything I read about Harvin makes it sound like he's all hype.

made a thread about percy harvin in the draft forum basically saying that i think he's all hype. He's just a fast guy who was a product of the Florida offense, which got him in open space so he could outrun COLLEGE kids. He won't be able to that in the NFL. I don't think he has the receiver skills or running back skills to be an every down guy. He's more of a utility player to me and you can find guys like that (leon) in later rounds. So long story short, i would really hate the PErcy harvin pick. Personally i think the jets best pick with the way the draft board is set up in ur mock, is laurinitis. The jets desperately need a coverage linebacker and i think laurinitis can fill that void.

After last year, we probably shouldn't gamble as much and instead go with a guy that's the closest thing to "can't miss" as it gets.

Harvin has too many question marks regarding durability/size/etc. The risk-reward is there, but we should try to get a guy with less risk since we need immediate contributors badly this year.

It's the Jets...there is no such thing as "can't miss" when it comes to the draft.

I could definitely see us trading up in to the Packers spot to take Sanchez.

Hopefully he'd pan out better than the last 2 OSU LBers we drafted.

I Said it before we either need a Big taller receiver or a Break away speed guy. An harvin fits one of those needs. Blazing Speed.

If Darius Heyward Bey is supposedly going with the next pick, we might as well draft him. Height and speed.

would definitely rather heyward bey over harvin. i am also scared of harvin.

no way i want anything to do with lauriniatis, cushing could be a good pick but will he play inside? i dont think so and we have too many damn outside guys anyway. the mlb thing can be worked out later in the draft its just not as prolific as olb in the 3-4... this will end up being interesting because i dont see a really great fit at 17 as of right now.

it would be fitting if that tool cushing ended up in new england though. scumbag reneged on nd and went to usc, now i can continue to hate him in new england.
