If we didn't have all those injuries his last year how many of you think we would had made it to the SB like a lot of people where predicting.
Maybe finally past the divisional game. But McCareins was one of the top WRs... Cotchery was only in his 2nd year.
seriously? jesus christ will the herm ever fucking stop around here? he sucks, bottom line do not try and say anything other than he sucks. doing so will prove stupidity
We would probably have not made it. We had a lack of servicable WRs. And you saw what happened to Baltimore when they had no time outs the last several minutes of the game in Pitt, it was a train wreck.
Fully healthy meaning w/ a fully healthy Chad we would have been contenders again, w/ no dominant team in the AFC we would have had a shot.
had Pennington not been injured both those season, i wont say herm would have won a Superbowl, but he hands down would have had the best record of any jet coach.. add 20 wins and take away and take away 12 loses to his jet record..
Everyone says we were a FG away from the AFC Champ game, but that is mainly because Big Ben played a HORRENDOUS game... how many INTs did he throw?.. 3 or 4 ?.. I mean our offense scored a total of 3 points in that game!! The rest was special teams and defense... Herm got a pretty nice team to play with.. and he did ok.. but no way were we ever going to taste a SB with him at the helm.
If Herm hadn't installed a new O designed to pass down field in 05 after unloading half the OL maybe Pennington doesn't get hurt?
I believe we would have made the Playoffs but likely as the 6th seed instead of the Steelers. If we were to beat the Bengals, we would have lost to the Colts.
If some how you still think herm is a good coach just contact a chiefs and ask them what they think. Add to that he works for espn now prob because what coach position is he good for?
Whatever...The only time I was thinking SB was in Mid November last yr., not before it, not after it.
We would have contended for a playoff spot. Remember, we lost Kareem McKenzie, Lamont and Jason Ferguson that offseason which proved to be massive losses for the trenches. C Mart, Fabini, and Chrebet all had their worst years to date as well prior to their injuries. Definitely would have been better than 4-12 though, and it seems like every good player we had got hurt that year except Abraham which was ironic as hell.
I feel very strongly that if Herm was a better coach and if we didn't have all those injuries his last year we might have made it to the SB like a lot of people where predicting.
No dominant team? NE won their 3rd SB in 4 years that year led by who you consider to be the "greatest QB of his generation" and you say there was no dominant team in the AFC?
