Don't think you'll never see the 3-8 again. Even the Ravens played some of it towards the end of the Titans game. The key is they are just better at it and have better personnel.

This is great news. GREAT NEWS!!! Finally an aggressive, swarming defensive philosophy.

Also when asked what kind of input he will have on the D, he smiled and said a huge amount.

He also said he will be talking to Schottenheimer today and at least to me it didn't sound like he cared all that much about keeping him. He said all the politically correct things, just like he did about Favre, but his heart didn't seem to be in either.

Sutton should have been gone before last season. This truly is great news!

Maybe now the real talent of our defense will arise.

That's not the impression I got. The last thing he said at the pc was that it's up to Schotty, either he says "yes" or "no" to staying. It sounds like it's entirely up to Schott. Personally, I hope he stays. I think he's gonna turn into a great coach.

It wasn't the words it was how he said them and he never said he wanted him to stay flat out. He kept saying he would talk to him. I think it will be up to him but I don't think Ryan will push it much at all.

Wait until we start signing your free agents. Say goodbye to Bart Scott.

You may be right, but he did also say that Schott was an outstanding coach and that the Jets already had a great coaching staff before he arrived there and that he personally had to swallow his pride when he wasn't offered the Ravens head coaching job. I think he wants Schott. I don't think it's just that he's willing to settle for keeping him.

I just think any new coach would want his own assistants and that would never include the guy who might take your job. Of course, as he said, he just went through the same thing himself in Baltimore last year.

I'm 80% sure that won't happen, but I wouldn't be that mad if we were to lose him anyways. Baltimore has two guys in McClain/Barnes, who I'm sure you know nothing about, that can easily step in and replace Scott. Bart is the epitome of a product, and although I'd rather keep him on our team, it's no biggie should you sign Scott.

I'd be devastated if we lost Suggs, but Sizzle isn't going anywhere.

If you want realistic expectations, then expect to welcome Ivy, Wilcox, or Edwards to New York. My prediction is that we'll lose one of Lewis/Suggs/Scott/Leonhard/Landry in the offseason, with Ray/Sizzle being the only irreplaceable parts.

I think this shows progress for Woody and Co.

They actually let a defensive HC choose his DC. Amaaaaazing. Now we just gotta work on that offense thing.
