That poster is actually a smart fella'. This team was built around Mangni's image and then it was slowly being taken away from him by Woody & Brett. We now have a solid, solid, solid foundation thanks to, Mangini. Yet so many bash him as if he were the worst thing to ever come across this franchise in 40+ years. Please...
Bottom line is, other than Parcells, the Jets have never really had a true NFL coach. Maybe Weeb, but that was before my time. These guys are all losers, and always have been at the NFL level. Hopefully Ryan will be different, but I doubt it.
Not me . Herm had better players in their prime. He switched a 3-4 D to a 4-3 then hired a 3-4 coach to run it (Cottrel). He got rid of Farrior for SAM COWART.He hired Hackett as OC. They drafted a kicker in the 2nd round. They did a dance when they MOVED UP for D-Rob. They traded a 2nd rounder for a TE that lasted 1 year. He had a healthy Chad, Curtis, Abraham and Coles. Herm was mediocre at best and was AWFUL at evaluating talent. They left this team with a fraction of the talent it had when he got here. He was ultra conservative at the end of games on O and kept other teams in games when it should have been over. Traded Aaron Glenn with alot of good years left. The list goes on and on, although some of it falls on Bradway. Herm even screwed up his exit, which is how we got Leon. Think about it. Mangini left this team waaayy better than Herm. Biggest problem is QB and CB.
Except for the fact that we got better when herm took over and KC in year 1 got better before they went into complete rebuilding mode.
