If Vilma and Harris could co-exist and both play to their potential then yes, I want you back Vilma.

I will never understand the fascination with Vilma. He's had one good year in the NFL. He was average last year, in his preferred 43 scheme. What's his excuse this time?

Well, if this whole thread wasn't ridiculous to begin with any thought of bringing him back is over now.

Vilma is a nice player, get over it though thats it! He is a player that no one else wants and you get for a song. Was one of the most over rated Jets ever.

Vilma's gone, he's not coming back, he shouldn't be back. I'd like to know what makes everyone think that a 6'1", 230 lbs. MLB can do in a 4-3? He's too damn small to play ILB or OLB.

    I couldn't agree more.

As for your beffudlement regarding NYJ fans fascination with Vilma, all I can say is, it epitomizes a condition that has plagued NYJ fans for quite some time now: confusing slightly-to-moderately above average Jet players with future hall of famers and blaming the presiding Jet coaching staff when said players don't pan out to be Super Bowl MVPs. This condition is usually characterized by a propensity to rush to judgement. Most fans afflicted with this condition have no concept of what it means to be a patient observer. These fans are remarkably reactionary. They often make sweeping generalizations, wild assessments, and unwarrantedly bold predictions, only to contradict themselves, in equally extravagant fashion, three weeks later. This condition explains why about half of this board thinks Kerry Rhodes is Ed Reed. It explains why half of this board was calling Chad Pennington Joe Montana after 10 starts. It explains why half of this board wants a Brett Ratliff jersey.

Don't get me wrong, I'm sure all NFL fans do this, to some small degree, with their own players on their own favorite teams - I think to some extent it's just human nature. (And don't get it twisted, I have been guilty of this myself PLENTY of times in the past)
