I was just wondering, does Manhattan have many Jets fans? For a while now I've been noticing that it's very rare to see anyone representing for the Jets when I'm in Manhattan. I went to a sports bar in Midtown on the west side to watch the second Jets vs. Pats game this season with a bunch of people I work with. On my way home, I walked about 15 blocks, then took two trains back to my place in Brooklyn. The whole time I was looking around for another Jet fan to give a high five to or something just to celebrate and I didn't see a single person sporting Jets gear or hear anyone talking about the game.

I know the Jets are known for their strong fan bases in LI, Queens, and Jersey, but it seems like there should be more Jet fans in Manhattan. I see plenty of Giants fans around. What gives?
I grew up in Manhattan and hang out there all the time, and the bars are FILLED with Jets fans during games. Depends on the bar, but you have to remember that Manhattan is huge and there are a lot of other team fans running around. We're definitely here though, and we WILL high five.
Yeah I've thought the same thing, except I've only been to manhattan twice and both times the jets were not doing well so I just figured people were just embarrassed about liking the jets.
I live in Manhattan and I'll often go out to the bars with my Jets gear on during a game. Then, after the game, I'll walk home and I'll often run into a fellow Jets fan also wearing his Jets gear. And we'll look at each other for a moment, shrug, and shake our heads in despair.
I saw quite a few Jets fans in Manhattan the week after the NE win. I don't know how many were Manhattan natives though.
Yeah, Manhattan is filled with many many non-natives. But all the guys I grew up with on the upper east side were Jets/Yankees fans.
This is true, I wasn't necessarily at a "Jets" bar. Actually, this place had every game going on at once on different screens and there were fans of all different teams there - even some freakin Pats fans, but there were a good number of Jets fans there too. That's New York for you. It's nice to know our Jet supporters are out there though.
I am a Jets fan but I am not a Jets "nerd." I don't walk around wearing sports gear of any kind. I'm too old to be wearing a Jets jersey or a Jets cap. To me, it's embarrassing when people of a certain age wear sports uniforms when they're way past the age that they can play the game. You young guys can keep wearing it, though.
Are you an old man like me, still wearing Jets gear? If so? The shoe fits. Hey I just turned 56. I just don't look good in a Joe Namath jersey anymore...
Last time I was there I saw no evidence of Jets fans in New York…in fact I was at the Bills / Jets game and I think I only saw around 10 or 12. It’s going to be tough to sell all of those PSL’s to 8 people.
No, not joking. I'm not trying to knock Manhattan Jets fans - I know they're there, obviously, It's just surprising to me how rarely I seem to notice them. FTR, I live in Brooklyn but don't seem to come across too many people rocking Jets gear there either.
