And awkward, too, since Bradway spent half his GM tenure living in Atlantic City.

Then why w/ 7 pro bowlers couldn't we make the playoffs? The talent level seems to be up, right? Why aren't we winning more?

he had the goods? I think we had a more talented team this year than any under him and we missed the playoffs. Remember he had a dynasty team in his div and conf in those years so it was harder to make a surprise run like these teams are doing now.

Mangini was fired for the record this team produced deservedly so. While our roster was highly over rated which we all know the pro bowl means nothing, we had substantial issues with this team and yet they had the same record as Herms team did when they won the East in 02 with the same three teams having very good years. Maybe Mangini isn't as lucky as Herm and that's why he only lasted three years in his first job? It took Herm a second job to be found out in year 3. I suspect that unlike Herm, Mangini may have actually learned something in his first HC job? Time will tell it always does and 20 games below 500 tells a cruel story.

In '02 we didn't peak in November, we had some early injuries and battled back. herm's teams never folded like this team and mangini didn't deserve to get fired. he was a young, developing HC. Good organizations don't change coaches every few years.

I'm sure Herm learned something but you need some talent to win which he didn't have in KC. He has some young talent that he and his staff were developing including a young, unheralded QB who they did a great job w/.

regardless of what happened in KC he did a good job here and the further away we get from him the clearer it becomes.

and I'm still waiting to hear how Herm ruined Curtis.

Lets not forget that Herm never really addressed his own shortcomings. He handed off clock management to Dick Curl, who in turn couldn't even get it done. Having such a lousy record pretty much insures that Herm will never be a good or great coach.

The mere fact that he got to the playoffs isn't enough. With the exeption of kicking the crap out of GB, the playoffs were never good to the Jets with Herm around, even if he did get us there 3 times.

Who knows? All I know is whereever he goes, QBs get smashed. Call it coincidence or whatever, but the fact that it happens is enough to chase any team away.

I'm still waiting for his clips to show up on that shitty beer commercial. That was all he really had to offer.

Junc, by Herm's own words his team is 85% complete. They managed 2 wins with an 85% complete team. Does that make sense?

Here's some classic Herm from the end of the 08 season. Still the same nonsense, over and over.

He cannot learn and will not take the blame:

So basically, I know I've lost a bunch of games and suggestions have been made, but I didn't use any of them because "everyone has suggestions"

That has failure written all over it from any perspective. Even a fool is right sometimes.

I so don't want that bullshit back.

"I’m not going to stand here today and make any excuses."

That's the funniest part about that whole interview.

Parcells recommended a clock coach just like he had w/ ray Handley and Herm tried to improve by hiring him.

We got to the playoffs in years where there were dominat teams in the AFC, we had a dynasty team in our div and conf. if any of those teams made it this year they would have had a real chacne and '02 &'04 did have a chance even against those top teams.

The bottom line is we had more success w/ him than we have w/o him. he's the only HC in our history to lead us to 3 postseasons and he did it in a 4 year stretch. In 5 years as a HC he led us 3 times, the other 44 years we made it a toal of 9 times.

    3 in 5=60%
    9 in 44= 20%

    Which is better?

he also led us to only our 2nd ever AFC East Title, led us to our first road playoff win since 1982(and only our 3rd ever), is the only Jets HC to have playoff wins in 2 different postseasons, led us to our first win at oakland since we were the Titans and the last time we missed 2 straight postseasons was immediately before Herm, the next time? immediately after Herm. Say what you want about him but he had success here that i'm sure we'd all love to see again.

Oh and one more thing. The year before Herm we were 6-1 and 9-5 and wound up going 9-7 and missing the playoffs, a few years after Herm we were 8-3 and finished 9-7 missing the playoffs. How come the choking didn't happen while he was here?

Well... it IS less than 10% of the vote. Plus, there's plenty of rival fans that are registered on this board that would love to see him here again.

We made the playoffs, right? we were a kick away from the title game, right? we did lose our QB for 3 games and he played the rest of the games w/ a torn rotator cuff PLUS our best playmaker on D was out down the stretch and in postseason as well. When did we choke away a season? We had 14-2 NE in our Div, had we finished 13-3 we STILL would have been playing in SD WC weekend.

Herms asshole decision making was a big part of why we lost that game. Junc, would you want Herm back?

We had a QB playing w/ a torn rotator cuff, our O scored 3 points. It was an amazing coaching job even to have a chance on the road against the 15-1 Steelers and our K missed not one but TWO makeable kicks.

I think that ship has sailed, I wish he didn't walk out and he was our HC the last few years but he did and we have moved on.

Sorry but it's harder to have a high percentage of appearances when you're comparing 5 to 44.

Maybe, just maybe Pennington was the cause of all those wins, since he did it in Miami. I mean really if Herm and Chad were such huge entities we should have owned the playoffs.

    Two more words: Curtis Martin.
