    What do you guys feel should happen with the kicker situation next year? I felt that Feely did a great job filling in for Nugent and made some kicks that Nuge simply couldn't (i.e. Pats game). Then again, Nugent's young and is getting paid a lot more money than Feely.

    I'd like to see a legit competition between the two: Nugent had a terrific practice and summer season before getting hurt. Feely looked good throughout the season, and seemed to get better as it went on. If pressed, I'd say Nugent.

    Feely, though both are below average to average. The next time Nugent makes a clutch kick will be the first. And he's always good for at least one "chip shot" miss in a crucial spot, or a blown PAT.

    Nugent will price himself right of a job. He really never impressed me since he was drafted. The Jets have other needs instead of an overpaid kicker. Feely or find another kicker from the scrap heap of undrafted college players.

    After Week 8, Feely was 18 of 19. After Week 9, it was 13-13. He struggled at first but really came on in the second half.

    On a side note, Lechler is a FA this year. That would be a great replacement at punter.

    Wow, i didn't know that. That really would be a great addition to ST. Field position is a battle we usually don't win.

    Would you rather have OK or the best punter in the league? Although the downside is after playing in Oakland his leg may be worn out.

    I know it is the exception, but Lechler was drafted by Oakland..as was Ray Guy.

    and on a weird side note....

    Dustin Colquit was drafted by KC and his dad was drafted by Pittsburgh. 2 Punters drafted in one family..

    Lechler = Good!!!

    Let Feely and Nugent batttle it out in camp. I like Feely because he is agressive after kickoffs. He has made some good tackles and hits this past season where Nugent probably would have been run over like roadkill.

    It never hurts to have two decent kickers in camp in case one gets hurt.

    Lechler would be a great addition. Hodges made like 1 or 2 great punts at the most. There's a reason he didn't play for 3 years.

    As for Feely vs Nugent, I'm not too sure. Feely did well this year and Nugent hasn't made a big FG yet because he hasn't really had an opportunity to make one. Feely couldn't beat out a rookie with the Dolphins (although maybe he just wanted out thinking they'd be bad again) and we drafted Nugent and paid him well because he's supposed to be our kicker for years. I would try to keep both and have Nugent do kickoffs and Feely do field goals. If keeping both wasn't possible, then Nugent since Feely has not exactly been consistant (went from one of the best to big misses with the Giants and now a journeyman) in his career.
