The only way people like DennisByrd and DWare will be proven right is if we replace Mangini with Schottenheimer. That will represent a downgrade and make the organization a complete laughingstock.
Bit of a stretch. Then in my example is posting "The Jets should draft Colt McCoy in the upcoming draft" fake news? Because it could be interpreted that I am implying that he declared himself eligible for the draft. Also since he is sure fire top five pick am I also implying that the Jets have traded up in the draft? Lets get real here bud.
I don't want to be proven right bro. The football seasons in which the Jets do well make that year so much more enjoyable for me and my family. When the Jets are terrible I want to tear my Direct TV dish off of my roof and light it on fire. Then when I get my Direct TV bill with my 4 easy payments for NFL Sunday Ticket I think of 4 or 5 delicious family outings to Olive Garden I sacrificed to pay for it. I can only imagine how ripped off you season ticket holders must feel. I hate that the Jets fired Mangini. I have waited for 25 years for the Jets to have a good 4-5 year run... going deep in the playoffs for a couple years but maybe just falling short... and then a Superbowl. I have a strong sense that is something that doesn't just fall into place overnight. It takes chemistry and a little luck. It takes continuity within the organization and definitely the roster. I believe Mangini had the Jets primed for a breakout run. They were buying into his program. He had some real good players to work with and he proved to be a good manager. IF NOT FOR FAVRES PLAY DOWN THE STRETCH. This could of been the first year of maybe getting to the AFC Championship. I believe the Jets matched up favorably with all the teams in the playoffs this year. There is no dominant team. I am very disappointed and the prospects of a 7-9 year next year while the team learns the new coaches system makes me sad. This year maybe more than any other year shows that first year coaches can have immediate success. I hope I am 100% wrong about Mangini and the new coach blows us fans out of the water.
I saw that differently. I think Eric Mangini was trying so desperately to recreate his own little Belichickian style that it became cartooney for his his players, particularly when adversity hit. They stopped buying in. Then, when he made certain glaring coaching blunders toward the end, there was a crisis of confidence and the whole system broke down. And, yes, Brett Favre was disastrous for this team down the stretch. I just see that as part of the perfect storm.
