  1. Clement is strictly an RT, just as Brick is strictly an LT.

The Sporting News ranks him 29th in free agent OT's. Far below Jason Fabini and even Scott Gragg.

Probably because his game is so one dimensional...I think we needed a guy like this though. Someone who can dominate in the running game.

Of course we do, I meant our starting o-line. It looks solid, we of course still need depth and still need to get some o-lineman in the draft.

If that's our starting Oline, you can stick a fork in Chad because he would be done. (Not that he isn't already)

And your butt lover Deangelo Williams would have very mild results with that line.

This guy is not a starter if we sign him. If he is we are fked..... he is a deph signing we are still looking at an OT somewhere in the 1st 3 rnds.

Looks pretty servicable from here, but there is a lot of room for improvement in the draft. Draft early o-lineman of course (#29 or #35 must be an o-lineman) and have them compete for the start. McNeil would be a great fit at RT.

    I see.

Look, i'm for this signing as BACKUP material. No stopgap or fill in guy...At RT I wanna see McNeil, Winston or Scott...

Teague I can deal with at Center, but that OLine still looks very very weak.

This signing signals to me that the front office is looking away from D'Brick, and possibly Leinart. Not because Clement fills the starting hole, but so far the front office has addressed positions that it views as weaknesses with middle-of-road veterens in order to gain flexibility in the draft.

Since Clement is a RT and not a LT, that tells me that the front office does not view LT as a position of need.

This also hints that the front office may be looking away from Leinart because Clement is viewed as below average to average pass blocker, and you need a good pass blocker on the QB's blindside. I suppose that if Leinart is drafted, Jones and Clement could flop, but this is just my own hypothesis.

All of this is pure conjecture however, and could easily be wrong or change if we sign a LT.

Does anyone agree/disagree with this? Any thoughts?

Why do you care? Your team's OL is great.

A good depth signing, sounds like a poor man's Kareem McKenzie.

Another reject player from a team where our backups would be starters. Woohoo!

  17. Clement is an average OL at best..but he is far,FAR superior than Fabini and/or Gragg at this stage of the game.

Hmm...Yeah now I definitely still think we need to draft McNeil and just use this guy as a backup. After reading up on him, he seems like a pretty poor starter. But it is a great signing, none the less.

He struggled starting for the Cardinals who have had Oliver Ross, Leonard Davis and L.J. Davis manning both positions. He can't be anything more than a depth signing.

If Clement starts we better be giving our quarterbacks some big ass pads.

Yeah, I think we can all agree on that now. Its a pretty good depth signing though.
