I think Mangini is going to be a good Head Coach but I really think the best thing for him to do would have been to go and be a coordinator for a couple of seasons.

Ya know, I'm happy for Eric and all, but if he had properly consulted the WWBBD handbook, he'd be an assistant in Miami right now.

Got this from the Browns scout.com board.

Iunno how true it is, but if it is it's interesting.

I wonder how our HC search is going...

Mangini hires Rob Ryan for DC of the Browns..per Adam Schefter

    Mangini hires his buddy!!!

Since there's no GM , Mangini is running loose in Cleveland.

Daboll is the front runner form OC,.

Browns hired former Raiders defensive coordinator Rob Ryan to fill the same position in Cleveland, according to NFL.com's Adam Schefter.

Oakland has already lost RBs coach Tom Rathman, OC Greg Knapp, and now Ryan, not to mention the assistants Lane Kiffin made off with to Tennessee. Buddy's lesser known son, Ryan's units were dictated by Al Davis in Oakland so we can't say for sure how they'll look with the Browns. The Raiders' 4-3 was awful against the run and used no blitzes. Ryan has experience running the 3-4, however, and will very likely employ that alignment in Cleveland.

Haha.. so much for the rat-fink never coaching in the NFL again, huh? This cat is likely to go on and do some good things in his NFL career... I think we are going to regret this one.

Keep on wishing... personally, I'd feel better if this happened. Then I could breathe a big sigh and say "the Jets were right all along". Now that is something that doesn't happen as often as I change my socks. :drunk:

I don't get this obsession with Rob Ryan. For four of the last five years, his defenses have ranked near or at the bottom of the league. Ask any Raiders fan, and they'll give you the same complaints we had about Sutton for how conservative his calls are.

I could care less about Rob Ryan and Brian DaBoll. Rex Ryan has to be our guy.

Where are these people who were saying he will never coach again? They couldn't be more wrong. Can you imagine: making a statement like that, and Mangini is actually the FIRST head coach hired. Browns did well for themselves. I am sure Woody's head is spinning just about now. Pennington was FA just for a few days, and now Mangini. Sounds familiar, old Woody doesn't it, genius?

He upgraded from the 28th best coordinator to the 26th. He is a genius after all.
