Has anyone read his info about Houston and Reggie Bush? What do you guys think, it is interesting that this has come out. Is it true or only a bluff?
how about you inform those who didnt see it...why ask a question and leave anyone who didnt see it hanging....DETAILS???
Texans may take Williams and NOT Bush....rumour http://www.nfl.com/ click on the Shefter link , good video.
Thank you. I had no idea what the heck he was talking about. Here is the link to the actual story http://www.nfl.com/nflnetwork/story/9381854
I am sure the Texans would love to trade down. I know Bush should be great but lets see how he holds up physically. Also the Texans probably do not want to spend about 50 million on a rb when there shelf time is an average of less then 5yrs. They will take him anyway but you can bet they wish they did not have too.
I don't see who would trade up to 1 to get Bush. If a team isn't in the top 10 it would take their entire draft I would imagine and thats not realistic (unless your a moron like ditka). The Saints don't need a running back, the Titans could use one but they don't need Reggie Bush and besides they need a qb. I don't see our front office trading up for a running back with all the other holes we have. I think this is just a smoke screen. But if it was true it would be crazy and really cause some interesting things in the draft. I'm hoping we get Mario Williams, I've wanted him all along but it doesn't seem like he's going to make it to 4.
if i was them, i would just take ferguson. they already have a decent rb in davis and a qb in carr who could be much better with a oline. bite the bullet so to speak and take the player you need. though you could argue they need an offensive weapon, and they could find other lineman to start down further in the draft. Ferguson would help the players that are already their have more time to make plays by giving carr space. the texans picked up moulds, who should help open up some space for andre johnson, one of the two will be open. I personally will not believe they are taking bush until I see them take him.
Sorry guys I was called away from the computer for a while, plus didn't know the etiqute here, but I did tell you where it was found.
Reasons the Texans will take Bush ... 1) He has the tangibles and intangilbles to be a Superstar in the NFL. There hasn't been many of those. Barry, Emmitt, Marshall, Payton, Brown, OJ ... 2) The only knock in him is no more than speculation. "He never had to carry the ball 20 times a game, how will he hold up" You can raise durability questions on any player, who the hell knows, but he was a healthy player at USC, stays in spectacular condition ala C-Mart and is extremely strong for his size which is not all that small to begin with. 3) He will change the Texans offense from the start. Teams will have to gameplan for Reggie Bush from the first time he steps on the field. 4) He may be the best receiver in this draft as well. 5) He will, without debate, put asses in the seats and send Jersey sales through the roof. Things that D'Brick and Mario will not do. 6) If they don't take him they better find the Presidential War Bunker and stay there until either Bush tears his ACL or the league disbands.
He may put asses in the seat, but the Texans picking him is not a smart move... Maybe a popular one, but not smart.... If a coach is concerned about popular opinion, then he is in the wrong profession...
Well we see it the same way. I think there is too much pressure on thenm to take Bush and there is no way thye can pass him up. The heat from the fans adn media would be awfull. But thtas what makes a good gm. Do not give in to whats popular with the public.
Why is it a bad move, because they have Dom Davis and and they have other needs. No one can see the future but, in general, teams don't pass on players of this caliber no matter what there needs or who they have in that position. If we had the #1 pick and Lamont Jordan I would still want Bush. You are getting him for the "Cost of a Contract" and 1 draft pick. If he's as good as advertised, what would it have cost to pry away a player like him that was under contract to another team? They'd be better off trading Davis if he's so good and get another 1st or 2nd rounder. They could then pick up a quality OL. If you don't think Davis is worth a pick that high than that only supports my point. Lastly, who the hell is gonna give up virtually all their picks to move up? Bush and the Texans make the most sense.
