    I see alot of threads on drafting another QB or going after one of the FA QBs. Both of our backup QBs have strong arms and I think it is only fair to give them a shot at competing for the spot next year. Keep in mind, Clemens poor play last year was manifested by a terrible offensive line. I Liked what I saw of Ratliff in preseason and he seems to have a presence about him. True it is only preseason and that is no indication of regular season play. If Woody wants Favre to come back it is only to help sell the PSl. From what I understand only a third have been sold. That would really make me sick that he would care more about PR than putting the best team on the field. Also both of our backups are young and could be around for a while. I'm not looking for a patch work QB that is out in a year.

    Ratliff = Tons of potential.

    Clemens = Has showed us absolutely ZERO to believe that he's our next starter.

    I have to disagree. On a bad team in 2007, he played some decent games and made some good throws. He showed some good mobility and a great arm.

    He'll have more time to throw, better recievers to throw to and a better running game.

    Thomas Jones had great seasons before he came to the Jets so we knew he had the potential. Are we supposed to waste another season just to find out whether or not Clemens has what it takes?

    I suggest a good old fashioned QB competition. we have 2 potential decent young quarterbacks and many holes to fill on defense.

    I was never against this. All QBs should have a shot at proving themselves, and I'm willing to give Clemens one last chance in '09. We still should bring in another veteran QB to compete for the job.

    I agree there's no reason to even consider a QB at this time, we have to fill out the wholes on defense, add a playmaker on the WR corps and increase our depth, its amazing what a young QB can do with a great offensive line and a running game, we could see alot of progress with these guys

    Brett Ratliff should be at least given the same opportunity Kellen Clemens had. He wont fail.

    Winning sells PSLs.

    Sucks that we wasted a year and can't really see whether or not Clemens or Ratliff can do it for us.

    That is the part the sucks we threw all our eggs in the Brett Farve basket and now we have a decent o-line and a pretty good d-fence line and two QB's who should have been given a shot instead of selling number 4 jerseys and filling seats. Now were all unsure, BUT at some point we have to fish or cut bait and I dont want to wait anymore. If these two QBs are not what we want then let them go play for another team its not fair to them either.

    Clemens maaaybe has potential, I'll give you that. But if another fanbase was championing their late round draft pick based on some good throws in a preseason game, you would laugh at how ridiculous they sound. Don't expect anything from Ratliff.

    Late Round?
    Ratliff wasn't even drafted lol.
    But seriously I believe we should have an open competition for QB. Clemens/Ratliff/Draft Pick (One of the big 3 QBs in the first (if they drop) Sanchez/Bradford/Stafford or later round picks Rhett Bomar/Tim Tebow
