Ainge didn't impress me in college; but that being said, if college careers told the whole story of pro potential, there would never be any first round busts and Brady and Cassel would be selling cars at a used car lot today.

So, whether he comes back or not really doesn't matter. What does matter is what plan this worthless team has in place if he doesn't and why do I think they don't have a clue? The idea of putting a 6th round pick who wasn't even the backup in there won't fly. Neither will Clemens who everybody in the organization thought was worthless according to the rumors so who is it going to be? They need to go outside to find somebody. I am guessing McNabb will still be in Philly and Warner will probably still be in AZ so who does that leave?

Great!! Now perhaps we can finally find out what kind of talent we have at the QB position. Especially since we've passed on almost every recent blue-chip Qb coming out of college in the last 3 years starting with Cutler and ending with Flacco..

I like it. We have two young QBs who have showed flashes in their limited action. Going in with no favorites, letting each of them start two pre-season games, and letting the best man win is the way to go.

With a new CS, there will be no built-in bias- and it'd be incredible if we actually ended up being the kind of team who developed a very good above average starter.

One thing I don't understand is that Favre was told by team physicians that if he wanted to play again, he should have the arthroscopic surgery now.

I'm assuming the surgery would be beneficial even if you didn't want to play again, so why wouldn't he want to do it right now and get it over with in either scenario? Seems strange to me, unless you factor in the fact that Favre obviously doesn't give two shits.

"The other direction" needs to be pursued by Tannenbaum, big time.

5 more years of ignoring drafting a franchise caliber QB in the first round gets you that scenario. Maybe it's time to build a franchise around a drafted franchise QB instead of a LT who we drafted to protect the franchise QB we don't have.

Sorry Winny U do remember the great QB search Man & Tan went on a couple of years ago before deciding that KC was the best of the lot. They passed on Cutler for KC. They passed on Leinhart for KC also if that means anything. They also worked out VY but he was picked before our slot so TN may have done us a favor. We then took that very dominant OLT named the "Brick" with our 1st round draft choice that year

They did not "pass" on Cutler or Leinart for KC. They passed on them for Ferguson.
