My thoughts exactly. We didn't fire an idiot. In fact, I find it hard to believe that Mangini is the idiot between him and the franchise that hasn't won a Super Bowl in 40 years. The Browns are loaded with talent too. Even on their shit D he'll still have Rogers, Wright, Jones, Poole, McDonald, Wimbley (TF happened to this guy?), Williams, Davis, and even Corey Williams...who's got the size and even relative youth to learn the 3-4 end position...to work with. Their offense as '06 taught us can be explosive and just nasty when they're going right.
He should do better there with the experience he's had here. If he doesn't, then he's lost. I am anxiously awaiting his OC and DC choices should he be hired.
By game 4 of next season you and all your friends are going to be wishing to God, Jesus, and the Tooth Fairy that Mangini was our coach again. I'll put a bowl of paper clips on it. Especially if we end up with Brian S. as our HC.
Too funny... tooo true. This kinda bullshit only happens to Jets fans. One more time, should I :rofl2: or
I have been looking at the Browns forum and they are not unhappy with Mangini as the front runner, they are concerned with the GM not being able to pick his coach, and I guess Pioli has a HC in mind and it's not Mangini so I'm guessing there is incompatibility already... so I ask my fellow Jet fans, is it wise that MT is doing all the interviews without Woody? this way in my opinion if they fail his will be the first head to roll.
I'm guessing Mangini leads the Browns to a 10 or 11 win playoff spot, the entire board freaks out, and then the Browns collapse.
I agree. They are going to be just like KC is today. Suck even more in three years. Mangini is an Edwards clone and has the same ability to brainwash owners.
This says he will be hired. I don't know that it is any different than any other article that says he will be hired. Just newer. http://nbcsports.msnbc.com/id/28542865/ "The Cleveland Browns will hire Eric Mangini as their new head coach, WEEI reported Wednesday. Mangini was fired by the Jets after a late-season slide that knocked them out of playoff contention. He spent three seasons in New York."
He got the job. Good for him. Time to bring Cleveland to the Super Bowl, while the Jets go 4-12. Probably a Dolphins-Browns AFC Championship game. Chad almost gets Miami over the hump, Mangini says no, but thanks Chad for getting him out of NY. Chad then says thanks to Mangini for the same exact thing.
Good for him, it was time for the Jets to let him go I would have liked to keep him but he did not work
Well, it was brought up earlier and here is the fallout of hiring your manager before your GM. It was already a given that Pioli wasn't going there and now Heckert. Haha..Mangini may end up the GM too as nobody else will probably want the job. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3818623 "Philadelphia Eagles general manager Tom Heckert informed the Browns on Thursday that he is withdrawing his name from consideration to be their GM, according to a source. Heckert was scheduled to interview for the job on Friday."
Rob Ryan as DC mangini finally got his guy.. http://blogs.nfl.com/2009/01/07/ryan-hired-as-browns-defensive-coordinator/ EDIT my bad just found it in the jets section. Thought it would have been posted in this thread. Move it necessary.
