We are approaching critical mass here for the NFL draft. In years pass Terry Bradway has made some decent but also some bad draft day deals. Now that the blood is in the water the sharks are starting to circle. For years we've heard what a whiz Tannenbaum's been with our cap and negotiating contracts. Now we need his buisness sense and football ability to merge here as Super GM. Teams may be looking to move up but don't give in wait them out and get every thing that we can get and then some. It's been years since we've come out on the right end of a deal. Teams will be looking to see if Tannenbaum is as easy as Bradway was to con. He needs to wait and only if he thinks it's worth it pull the trigger. All the NFL "experts" claim that this draft has no more then 10 #1 picks. After that the middle rounds are fairly stacked with good prospects. If we move out of the 4 spot it has to be a deal that Tony Soprano couldn't refuse otherwise it'll be the "same old Jets" My point being don't make a deal for the sake of making a deal.
I agree. We are picking 4th for a reason and get a freakin stud to help strengthen this team.. Nice Avatar Big Tymer.
Depends who they are targeting. If it is Cutler they want than they should be calling teams in the 5-9 range trying to move down a bit. If they want Mario than they are gonna stay where they are and take him if he is available. If it was me the only way I'm moving down is if they really want Cutler.
Don't see many if any teams trading picks with us. There is Denver who wants Davis, but I can't think of any other team that is in dire straights to make such a move. What would teams move up to get anyway? Not many QB's are needed No top deep threats Besides Bush RBs are available We know OT are available There are only two people teams would move up for. Vernon Davis and A.J. Hawk.... Besides Denver I don't see it happening
From what i read denver has a tight cap, So they may not be willing to come up. At least that what what everybody was saying was the reason that they did not want j abe. What I would look for is a team from 7 - 12 that is willing to give us this years first and next years first. Say the FO thinks Quinn is the man and this would give us the ability to get him.
I don' t think Denver will be budging at all , and in fact believe that they will go WR first pick , maybe Davis. Texans might trade........:shit:
If you think they stay put at 15, then how do they end up with (Vernon) Davis... you really aren't saying anything here. This post is the equivalent of saying either they won't trade up or they will... thanks for the insight. Please clarify.
Super GM, Faster than a Jets season goes in the crapper, Able to draft two players in a single round, More powerful than a coked up Lawrence Taylor, Look in the Owners Suite it's an accountant, it's a cap administrator, its SUPER GM !
Nice avatar Vision. Cutler imho isn't a top 10 pick. The market for him may be light if Young doesnt go early. The Jets need to pick a starter that can play in 06' not another projected or future starter.
It is possible but unlikely that Davis could fall that far and for my money Dever do not need a TE , but a WR. Clarified enough?
obviously they have a blueprint on how they want to build the team.. so if trading up is part of the plans im all for it.
You couldn't have possibly posted the message I called into question with this ridiculous scenario in mind... its totally naive. Vernon Davis will NOT drop to pick 15, there isn't even a scenario in which he might. 14 teams are not going to pass over the 2nd best offensive playmaker (that isn't a QB) in the draft. Reggie Bush is the only offensive positional player that is ranked higher than VD. Also, just because Denver "needs" a WR more than a TE, doesn't mean they will pass on drafting the best pass catching threat in the draft (Davis) - besides, its already been reported numerous times that Denver is VERY high on VD and have already tried to trade up into the top 4 picks (with New Orleans).
