"The NY Jets would like to welcome Brian Schottenheimer as the 18th head coach in Jets history." aaaaand queue the boos BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
He's referring to a pretty widely circulated YouTube video of bad Jets draft picks through the years. The last selection they showed was when the Jets took Kyle Brady. Right before the pick, a bunch of Jets fans were chanting "We want Sapp!" because Warren Sapp was still on the board.
Exactly. The only sure thing is that whoever the Jets hire, some fans will start making Super Bowl plans and others will slit their wrists.
Yeah, let's take our chances with Ryan. He seems like a tough coordinator, and anyone who can control that crazy fuck Ray Lewis deserves a shot as a head coach.
I am a little concerned that the Ravens didn't hire him last year or any of the other teams looking for a HC. I'd much rather have Spags but think it is unlikely he would come here, my next choice would be Schwartz, then maybe Ryan.
I do u thinks spags would not come here? To be a head coach in the nfl plus the fact he would not need to relocate.
Rex Ryan is the kind of guy who might be boom-bust. I am concerned with his ability to handle the New York media, and the fact of the matter is the only thing he might be good for is a Mora style meltdown. That said, he has consistently run top flight defenses and is as qualified as anyone out there. With Shanahan and Cowher likely off the table, I think he's the best candidate. Another guy I'm surprised hasn't gotten any looks was once the heir apparent to Bill Cowher. Why isn't anyone mentioning Russ Grimm? -X-
I think Spags takes the Denver job, they have an offense built to win with a great young Qb, they need to build up their D which just so happens to be his specialty. He will get to choose where he wants to go and I find it unlikely he chooses the Jets and their QB circus over Denver. Hopefully the Giants get knocked out first round so we don't have to wait until after the SB only to get shunned by him and fall back on Schotty Jr.
