Clowney can make the outstanding catch, wouldn't mind giving him a shot next year, he has separation pace thats for sure.
Brad Smith is a waste as a #3. He comes in for two trick plays a game and that's it. Clowney has the big play ability that Smith does not.
He's not a slot receiver. He should be a #2 or #1 guy on the outside. Stuckey is a perfect slot receiver.
This is foolishness. Just because he looked good in a preseason game doesn't make him good. He's a poor man's Jonathan Carter.
I'm all for giving Clowney a shot next year. The only 3 WR's I would like to see back for sure are Cotchery, Stuckey, and Clowney. Keep those 3. Find a way to move Coles and draft a WR in the first round. Guys that the Jets should look at IMO are. 1. Jeremy Macklin, WR, Missouri 2, Hakeem Nicks, WR, UNC 3. Percy Harvin, WR, Florida 4. Derrius Heywayd-Bey, WR, Maryland Obviously Crabtree but I see no way he is available when the Jets pick. Draft one of those 3 and then you can even bring back Smith or Wright. Whichever one the coaching staff likes best.
Okay, I get that just because he looked good in preseason doesn't necessarily mean he will be good in the reg. season. But based on what information can you say he's a poor man's Jonathan Carter? I'm very confused by comments like this around here.
No Kenny Britt? He should be around for our 2nd round pick. If he can run less than a 4.40 at the Combine, he could even be a mid-to-late 1st. He runs clean routes, has good hands, is 6-4, and pretty damn fast. Plus, he's a local kid.
Absolutely. How in the world are Eddie Royal and DeSean Jackson lighting the league on fire and Clowney can't even get on the field? One more reason why our CS is a joke.
I'm always weary of "crowning" someone based on preseason (i.e. JT O'Sullivan). But he looks like he's got some skill so maybe with a chance and some coaching, he could breakout.
There is always great depth at WR in the draft. But since the Lions are picking first the number 1 WR is gone. Definitely agree with everyone that Clowney deserves a shot a WR.
Oh really? Did you see the four or five plays he did get on the field, the kind of separation he got? Better separation than Coles, Cotchery, and Stuckey were getting. Clowney is lightning fast and has good hands. He might be injury prone but that has yet to be seen. The guy deserves a shot. There is absolutely NOTHING foolish about giving a player of this caliber a shot.
I like his potential but I wouldn't crown him the next Steve Smith as of yet, I am done hedging my bets with just potential
