Just thinking-For those who don't want D'brick (I am not sure who I want at this point), who starts at Tackle besides Jones?
We are gonna have to draft on the Ol whether we draft DBrick or not. The value on the OL is in the 2nd and beyond..
Are those guys ready to start from day one? I like Winston at #29, but most of those guys will be ? marks
Even if we draft Ferguson, we'll still need a RT. Unless, of course, we put Jones there, and basically wave the white flag before the season starts.
We won't be able to trade down very far, I expect him to be picked by either Buffalo at #8 or Detroit at #9.
Thats the area that I would like for them to trade down to. They would get that pick plus at least one more day 1 pick and probably a day one pick in 2007 for the #4.
We start AJ at LT, Pete at LG, Try at C, Moore at RG and #29 or #35 at RT. Thats the beauty of this draft, quality linemen at that spot in the draft. This draft is designed for teams with our problem, we are very luck that the o-line is so deep. we get high to med round 1 talent in the 2nd or 3rd rounds!! We get more for our money if we draft this way and dnt take Ferg @#4
If Leinart falls to 4 and we decide that we are not that in love with Leinart, Oakland would defin make a move up from 7 to 4 and we'd still probably have a shot at Justice at 7, while picking up an additonal 2 I would think....at least.
Who's to say they won't, and Ferguson will? The assumption that Ferguson is a can't miss and everyone else is just a big question mark is kind of silly.
I think it will shake out that if he isn't then Eric Winston will be. Sign me up for either/or. Instant starting RT.
There are plenty of OT's in this draft who fit what we need on our line much better than does Ferguson and whom are starter ready. 1. Marcus McNeill- Auburn 2. Jonathan Scott- Texas 3. Andrew Whitworth- LSU 4. Daryn Colledge- Boise State
Working with that pro offense at USC helps him so much more. He has been tested at the highest level. From what I have seen of him his only weekness is his weight which he will put on as he matures. Remember he is only a jr. He is fundamentaly sound as a blocker. He does need to be a bit more agressive but that can be learned as well. This is also said about Ferg. I just believe that he is a better value pick at #8-#10 then Ferg is at #4.
Mcneil at 29 would be a beautiful thing. Hopefully the rumors of Tampa snatching him at 23 are false.
