Damn good linebacker coach for the Eagles, turns Jeremiah Trotter into something decent, goes to the Bears as defensive coordinator, turns the Bears defense into something magnificent, looks like a lock to get the head coach spot in San Diego after the Super Bowl loss... ...that job goes to Turner, the Bears fire Rivera and he becomes not the head coach, not the assistant head coach, not the defensive coordiantor, not even the linebackers coach, but the INSIDE linebackers coach of the team he was a dominant head coach candidate for? W. T. F?
I think the simple explanation is, Rivera's an asshole. It's the only reason I can imagine that he would've not only failed to get a head coaching job but actually gotten run out of town in Chicago after the job he did there. I expect the Jets to interview Leslie Frazier or Ron Meeks, maybe both.
