hes got the right attitude, I have kind of written him off, after his tough year last year and how impressive ratliff was in the pre sason.. But i like what he said. hopefully that transpired onto the field

What the hell are you talking about? He had his chance? with maybe the worst Jets team we put out there since 1996. Come on man!

Would be interesting to see clemens play behind an actual good line. Even though where a bunch of under-achieving bitches atleast we were a solid football team compared to 07's crap depot. So, Why not ? Give Clemens another chance this time with a good line and better all around team. Still not a good team though.

Give him another chance! I'd feel better about him than the "Preseason Tom Brady" Ratliff...assuming no other quality quarterback is available. Also if we pass on him and he turns out to go to the Bills or something and play well there, it would be another Pennington fiasco all over again.

So are you saying we should give up the 2009 season just to test Clemens out and see if he has the right stuff?

The packers tried that, and now they have a terrible record. So I see where you come from.

I think its a matter of who's available, if no one's available in the draft or FA then I think Clemens should get a shot.

I'd rather have Favre back. And this is saying a lot.

If Clemens were to get a shot at starting, wouldn't he necessarily have to battle it out with Ratliff and whoever else they might bring in to vie for the job? I mean, with his limited experience, and especially with a new HC coming in, it's not like they would just hand him the starting job without proving himself against the competition first.

If he doesn't look like the best choice in training camp/preseason, why would he start?

Because people on this board are convinced that every quarterback should have a full season as a starter before they can pass judgement.

    Thank you.

Kellen Clemens is straight awful, I wouldn't be surprised to see whatever new coaching cut him before next season. Some people are just going to have to accept that Mangini's supposed franchise QB didn't work out. Kellen needs to take his millions and head back to the farm.

I mean for gods sake he was outplayed by an undrafted second year QB.

I am really hoping the Jets take a chance on one of the big three if they declare (not likely).

I agree that I thought Brohm would be a great NFL QB and it made no sense that he got drafted by a team in no need of a QB

And thanks for starting this thread, I have been posting forever how its ridiculous we write him off after 5 games while 2 preseasons ago he was our future QB

    To a Clemens hater:

Please list reasons to why Clemens is so god awful. And if you could, list reasons that cant be contributed to a horrendous OL, which gave him about 1.5 seconds to get rid of the ball.

    List away.

Short, but the point is very true.

What exactly are contributing to this?

Unfortunately of Fortunately we are getting a new coach and coaching staff. So we may not be using any quarterbacks from our chart. I hope we don't end up with a Trent Edwards at the helm.

I haven't seen anything to sell me on either Clemens or Rattiff. Unless we get a good WR that can stretch the field and pull double coverage, then we need a short pass QB.

I find it funny that chad who was not new to starting gets excused for his shit play last year because he had a shitty o-line, but clemens who gets thrown to the wolves with that same shitty o-line and his #1 wr hurt or playing hurt doesn't get the same pass.
