I'm not surprised, just disappointed. Why would Cowher want THIS mess? It's probably his best career move.
Better QB in Denver who will be in place for another ten years.......one thing Woody does not realize about sport fans......we DON'T change our loyalty to another brand....get rid of Brett and we will be there...we lived through Browning Nagle for goodness sake.
Well, many sports fans are that way, but if you look at the flood of people who joined this site in August of 2008, you will find that a lot of people now follow around their favorite player and care less for the team.
Obviously, no one knows what happened. I'm still willing to bet that his family talked him out of it. They were the reason he left coaching to begin with. Edit: Posted this before I saw the report in the Post about it possibly being because of Favre. If that is the case, then I agree with all here that Woody is a fucking tool. So we lose out on a new, qualified and successful HC, all because you want to hang onto the hopes that an injured, 39-soon-to-be-40 year old QB will guide you to a Super Bowl? Hell, he might not even want to play again, especially for another new HC. So we'll be sacrificing bringing in a fairly young HC who will stick around for awhile for keeping an aging, over-the-hill QB for one more year? Brilliant.
I just heard the same thing on the radio just now... he was concerned with the Jets' "historic dysfuntion." What a freakin' insult. But more than that, it shows me the guy (1) somehow strangely believes in some sort of curse the Jets have and more importantly, (2) he doesn't think he has what it takes to reverse his notion of this "dysfuntion." Either way, he's not the guy for us. I want someone who's a more positive thinker than that. I'm surprised at Cowher for saying that.
its true, The FO are a bunch of bumbling idiots and will never be considered a top flight organization. Probably should have kept Mangini at this point, it was a hasty move and they will pay for it.
There are thousands of members here (I think), how many of them joined because of Favre? 10-20? Yes, some people follow their favorite player around, but those are not the ones that are going to be buying PSLs or season tickets. They're sitting at home watching on TV. How many Packer fans do you think moved from Green Bay to New York to attend Jet games?
I am too. Most professional people just keep their mouths shut and move along. What angers me more today, though, is that he's not wrong. But that's for ME to complain about, not him.
