Lets face it, we're in one of the toughest division in football because we have BB who will never get tired of coaching, and though Parcells will move on sooner than later, he's going to leave a solid franchise with Sparano who already has shown he's an improvisor and intelligent guy. In other words, its going to be a fucking war for the next decade. It would not be surprising to see even Cowher come in and not make the playoffs next year. We got a tough schedule and a lot of holes and will most likely have Ratliff at QB for his first starting season. Will Cowher stick around when the shit hits the fan? I doubt it. We need a tough warrior who's willing to battle BB and Sparano for years. Not a hired gun for next year or two. Also, as an aside, we shot our load this year and that was good and hey--it didn't work out. But there's no need to get all panicked and feel we have to risk everything for next year.
This is so flippin' right. I've seen that fat, hairy, Ron Jeremy go four, maybe five scene, PLUS hang around for a girl-girl thing. He's a New Yorker. Almost obligated to take the job.
I agree, but the media hear kills guys... A guy like cowher (if he came here) has probably had 20 bad stories wrote about him in 15 years, come to NY, regardless of who you are.. after you first year if your not perfect, its non stop everyday, second guessing, complaining etc...Its so taxing to people not from here.. Even the giants don't hold coaches long. Coughlin went to the playoffs 3/4 years and they were about to fire him... does anyone really think if we had Fischer,, Gruden, Ried when they were young they would have lasted there early years in NYC? This is the toughest place to coach, and with that said this is no way is a a defense of eric mangini, because he sucks and im glad hes gone lol
I agree with this and will always agree with this I hate seeing draft picks wasted, players pissed off because of staff changes I thought when we brought in mangini he would be here for at least 5+ years, especially considering his age, we knew there would be some miss-steps, but obviously that didn't work out, so i hope whoever comes in can last
Joe Walton 1983-1989 Bruce Coslet 1990-1993 Pete Carroll 1994 Richie Kotite 1995-1996 Bill Parcells 1997-1999 Al Groh 2000 Herman Edwards 2001-2005 Eric Mangini 2006-2008
Bill Parcells Ray Handley Dan reeves Jim fassel Tom Couglin I don't know the exact years, they have had 5 coaches over the same time we had 8. but during that time that's the Giants who have 4 Superbowl appearances and 3 Superbowl wins.. Ny makes it hard to stay around regardless of who you are...
It's the way this league works. That's why I won't feel sorry for any of them. As many of them leave after short stays as get fired. Jimmy Johnson Dave Wannstedt Jim Bates (interim) Nick Saban Cam Cameron Tony Sparano Raymond Berry Rod Rust Dick MacPherson Bill Parcells Pete Carroll Bill Belichick Excluding Belichick, of the bunch of them, I think Wannstedt stayed longer with his team than any other. I shake my head at that one.
Thank you. I'll try. My fingers are really fat and typing is harder than us winning the AFC East with a rocket arm HOF QB.
