They both suck. Also, "most" is a stretch. Try "alternate".

Cotchery has nice things to say about Marty today. He played for him in the Senior Bowl years ago. Mentioned how impressed he was with Marty's passion for the game.

If "The Fumble" and "The Drive" didn't happen, then we would see Marty in a different light.

People who want to see a running game need to remember the names Byner and Mack, both rushed for 1000 yards in the same season playing for Marty.

I wonder if Cotch will feel the same way when Marty has the offense run 60 running plays every week.

    Fuck Martyball

I thought Leon and Thomas Jones needed more touches?

Do you seriously think they are going to run 90 or even 70 percent of the time?

Go watch the Chargers when he coached them.

Look, the guy has a record of 200 and 126 and went to the playoffs 13 times. Only here could you find fools who aren't impressed with that.

no...i'm exagerating....but Marty is known for running the ball excessively....and failing miserably in the playoffs. I'd rather pass on him.

Keep in mind, he leaned on the players he had.

With the Browns he had Byner and Mack, a great running attack. Can you name the recievers? I can't, other than Webster Slaughter, who was not exactly Randy Moss.

With the Chargers, he had LT. What would you do? Limit LT?

The fact here is that Cowher is probably not an option. Marty may be the next best option. That is what happens when you fire your coach with no plan in place.

And even in these examples, he does throw the ball quite a bit. Brees usually averaged about 30 attempts a game, and Rivers in his last year had 460 attempts. Average that over 16 games.

It's funny, people are crying about Marty because he's a playoff choker while clamoring for Bill Cowher the proven winner. If Earnest Byner holds onto the ball and the referees did their job adequately in Super Bowl XL, it's Schottenheimer who has a title and Cowher who is radioactive because of his lack of playoff success.

The Jets, unfortunately, don't have the luxury of being able to hire a coach to win that one big game in January. They need someone who can make the playoffs, and Schottenheimer can certainly do that. If Cowher's unavailable, Schottenheimer is easily the best option.

Well...i think we need a defensive minded coach, imo. What's the big saying around the NFL.."Defense wins championships"?

I might be able to live with Marty...but that's only as a last resort.....Spags, Schwartz, Cowher, Rex Ryan would all have to decline the job before i would accept that "playoff failure" on to this team.

Exactly. It, just like the Jets, is not all the coaches fault. It takes a team and staff to make the Super Bowl. And all the breaks have to go your way.

What if the Raiders got that call as a fumble?????

Marty is the best of the rest. Insinuating that he is better that any of those three is nuts.

No. No. No... I don't want that clown.. He shuts it down halfway thru the game and goes ultra conseritive.. Just like his son does halfway thru the game.

Nope, not winning the Super Bowl sucks, and choking in any case sucks. Coming from a Yankees fan I would think you'd be a little more demanding of results, instead of shilling it up for a fraud.
