Criminy, listen to all this bellyaching. either Cowher or Shanahan would be a major upgrade on Mangini.
If this is true please bring Shanahan right away, even though I hate him. It would be the best thing for TGG.
But their collapse was worse. A 3 game division lead with 3 to play. (or was it 4 and 4?) Nothing we did was even close. You are talking Mets stuff here. Why do you think he was fired after 21 years anyway?
Oddly enough, I was just wondering last night if Shanahan would be fired. I don't think I would want him as coach. He won those two Super Bowls because he had a very determined John Elway, the Broncos were a good team in a batch of weak or overachieving ones, and they played the Packers who were not playing there best that night and a way overachieving Falcons teams in those Super Bowls. The Broncos have blown easy routes to the playoffs the last three years and like us this year collapsed despite the talent they had. Despite this, I wouldn't mind that much if he became our head coach because of his success in the past and did very well in 2005 with all the competition they had, but I'd rather have Cowher (it looks like he's getting a change of heart) or Spagnola (Tannenbaum made a good point in an SNY interview that the 3 surprise teams of the year all took chances on inexperienced coaches and have had success).
Their last game they had to start a running back that was selling cellphones a few weeks until Denver called
Sorry to say that your knowledge is surface at best in this regard. If one was paying close attention, Den was not too good all year. The only game they should have one was the 2nd OAK game. Many of us predicted even when SD was 4-7 they would win this division. http://forums.theganggreen.com/showthread.php?t=38558&highlight=Denver&page=2 see post 27 and those referred to before.
if the Seahawks aren't flagged for invisible penalties, Cowher doesn't have his SB. conspiracy talk is BS, but the NFL wanted Cowher and Jermoe Bettis to win that SB, and the officials got caught up in the hoopla.
