Marty has a proven winning record. if you have heard him speak he is tremendously inspiring, very motivating. Brian is one of the most respected young coaches in the league. I know everyone complained about play calling but there was a time this year when the offense looked unstoppable. I believe if the QB protects the ball, then the offense wiil be OK although speed ar WR needs to be addressed. I think the Jets like their offensive coaches. Callahan stays, Brian S. stays, Daboll stays. On defense only Dan Quinn. Rob Ryan becomes the DC and Romeo becomes asst HC defense. I hope Favre retires and I believe the Jets feel they have a QB that can play on the roster. Coaches from outside of the organization probably don't think the Jets have QB.

    That's probably because we don't.

Fuck the Schottenheimers.....Woody is too pissed off to hire a "regular season" coach....he's going to hire a "playoff coach"...a guy who knows how to win when it counts the most.

That would be the worst of all possible scenarios in my mind. I'd rather have some new no-name rookie HC than Marty.

I don't think Marty gets hired on the sheer fact that it will have severly hamper PSL sales.

Why? Marty wins games. Makes playoffs and THEN chokes.

Marty would be horrible. Teams would know that EVERY play is a running play.

It's going to be Schwartz or Spagnaolo. Put your money on Schwartz because of his ties with Tannenbaum.

I wouldn't shed a tear over that....Schwartz would be a good hire, IMO...so would Spags.

Yup, I'll take either one, preferably the former. Schottenheimer would be terrible on so many levels, with the most obvious being his terrible son will keep the OC job.

i've mentioned this in other threads.....the fact that Woody desperately needs to sell his PSL's...means Martyball will not get the nod, IMO.

I like Spags....he's very passionate and innovative (hell, he was the only one to stop the Pats offense last season)....and i really believe he has the qualifications to put Gholston on the right track.

I feel the same about Schwartz....i would take either one if Cowher falls through.

Not quite, Herm made us a fringe playoff team, every where Marty has gone has been a team strong enough to win a championship but failed. It has been said many times the only difference between Cowher and Marty was Cowher got lucky one year.

Why should Rob Ryan be the DC? Wasn't the Raiders D pretty awful this season?

B.S. is staying, if Favre stays no matter who comes in.

Look at the bright side with Marty, he does get you to the post season.
And No one is more due to get one ....

I wouldn't have a problem w/ Marty as HC and Brian as OC. Marty is not a big game winner but you can't get to the big game w/o getting to the postseason which he does almost every year. Eventually he has to break through, right?
