First off I fucking hate the guy as an Oklahoma State alum, but he is an excellent coach and there is a good chance he will be going to the pros if not this year within 3 years. He has said many times he thinks he will be a pro coach in the not too distant future. His first choice is Dallas which may have an opening now though, I would say Kansas City would probably be #2
I don't see Stoops leaving now, not during a National Championship season. And if he did jump to the NFL, I'd be surprised if he didn't push for a GM/Coach hybrid job; why give up power when he has full control at OU?
Yeah, someone on the radio today started throwing out college coach names, including Urban Meyer. I don't think we should go down that route but if we do, then hire Leach for pure entertainment purposes.
I don?t know if there?s any possibility of that or if Stoops would do well in the NFL, but I have to say, it?s nice to hear someone bring up a name other than the few names that people on this board keep incessantly bringing up (Cowher, Parcells, etc?). Sure, first time HCs often don?t work out for the best (e.g. Mangini) but I?m so sick of this mentality that the only guys who could possibly be qualified are guys that already have long winning track records in the NFL and have already made their mark with other teams. Personally, I?d love to see some fresh blood come into the mix.
I think if 0u wins the national title stoops could be gone, especially since he is losing a TON of guys to the nfl this year. I would bet my left nut that if Dallas offered him the job he would take it in a second. Norman is only about 3.5 hours away from Dallas and the Cowboys have won many superbowls with oklahoma college coaches (jimmy johnson with oklahoma state, barry switzer at 0u). I think Jerry Jones is already in love with the guy and honestly its a great fit. NO WAY would I want to see Mike Leach as the Jets coach!

Stoops is a choker, his team always blows it yet they still get into Championship Games for some reason. I don't want Bob Stoops, I'd rather have the NFL version of Stoops- Marty Schottenheimer.
