There have been a lot of threads regarding Cowher and Parcells. Mostly that Cowher doesn't really want to return until 2010, and that Parcells would be a one time deal. Here's my theory...

I say we go after Parcells, we give him what he wants; money and lots of it. A decent salary for a year. We get Parcells in here for a shot at the Post-Season. Woody gets his Coach/QB duo to sell PSL's, Merchandise, etc. etc.

    Here's where Cowher comes in...

Parcell's contract is up, obviously he leaves the Jets once again. By this time 2010 will be rolling around, and this will make way for Cowher. Not to mention, I believe that Parcells would lay a good "Foundation" as Tanny likes to call it. Cowher could essentially be signing with a team, that's been setup for the next several years by the personell mastermind himself. Not to mention, if Parcells actually does make Post-Season, it makes the team a more attractive situation to Cowher.

    Pros

    * Both men are supporters of the 3-4 Defense. Essentially, this allows Cowher to work with the CS that Parcells sets up for him.

    * Both are team oriented, passionate coaches. (I know Cowher is a conservative Coach at times, but he shows compassion for his players.)

    * The foundation that Parcells lays, could set Cowher up for success for his run here.

    Cons

    * The only con, and probably the only thing that will prevent this from happening is that both Parcells and Cowher are control whores over their personell. Unfortunatley, we have a good GM in Tanny, and I don't see him relinquishing his personell duties.

    Thoughts?

This thread should be its own post in another thread. You dont think we have enough of them scattered throughout the first page?

    YEEEEEEEEESSSSS!!!!

Let's by a Superbowl while we're at it. Clearly two massive ego's will coincide with one another. No problems will pop up in this scenario.

How do these two egos coincide? They wouldn't be coaching at the same time.

We could then resurrect Bill Walsh as OC and hire the Ryan Brothers and morph them into a Super Ryan as DC.

I think if we can get Parcells and Cowher, it would be an improvement. We then simply add Tom Brady, Peyton Manning (in case Brady has a hard time coming back from injury), Adrian Peterson, Frank Gore, Calvin Johnson, Andre Johnson (can't have enough Johnsons), Superman, and Jesus. Then we'll be set!

Thats a Judea Capta coin minted by the Roman emporer Vespasian. That's him on the obverse and a depiction of Judea weeping under a Roman trophy on the reverse. I passed on it a year or two ago but still keep its picture around. I collect ancient coins.

how disappointing. I thought this thread was going to be about genetically engineering a single, super coach from the DNA of Parcells and Cowher. I suppose with out luck the buffoons the Jets sent out to collect the samples would mistakenly get samples from Jill Parcells of Ft. Lauderdale and William Cowher of Reno, Nevada, leaving us with the only coach more worthless than Eric Mangini.

    How would that work?

They both are going to want to control everything.

Woody made it clear he does not want the coach and the GM to be the same guy.

We already have a GM and both of these guys are going to want to do both especially the Tuna if he is coaching.

Considering these two can't fit in the same room, the chances of them ever being cohesive are slim to none. For all the Parcells fans out there, which I am one, the chances of him coming back are just about zero. What does he have to prove here. If he hadn't already had one go 'round here before I would think, maybe, but considering his age I think he'll end up staying right where he is right now. With the coach he picked, and the quarterback he drafted. And sadly enough, with the division they just won. The Fish aren't winning on Sunday, so he'll go back and try to build on what already has been a successful season.

I think the key to getting Cowher may be his daughter is at Princeton.

We have to hope his little princess wants to be near her Daddy.

If she is a party girl screwing half the campus, she won't want that.

On the other hand maybe we should tell him she is so he will want to be around to save what's left of her virtue.

    WHO'S WITH ME???

We should focus on Cowher, if we're going after the established coach. I don't know exactly why, and I don't particularly like the guy, Billick's name has barely been mentioned on this board. He was a winning coach, right? His defense was always a monster, right? His offense, as putrid as it might have been, usually scored more than other team, right?
I'm just throwing it out there...

We don't need Parcells sticking around for a year or 2 and then bolting.
