I have this sick sick feeling that we are going to hire Mike Tice...
    Why?

    *He has head coaching experience,
    * Is being backed by Bill Parcells (http://www.fannation.com/truth_and_rumors/view/83172-parcells-endorsing-tice)
    * NY guy (Bayshore,Long Island)
    * Will not cost a-lot (2005 season, Tice was the lowest-paid head coach in the NFL)

His overall record with Minny was 32 - 33 and never made the playoffs..Nasty

    Year Team Season Playoffs
    2001 MIN 0 - 1 - 0 -
    2002 MIN 6 - 10 - 0 -
    2003 MIN 9 - 7 - 0 -
    2004 MIN 8 - 8 - 0 0 - 0
    2005 MIN 9 - 7 - 0 0 - 0

In no way am I endorsing this, it just has that SOJ feel to me, experienced HC, Parcells connection, NY guy, cost effective and nobody would expect it..

The only thing saving us, is he may not be a "character guy" since he was fined by the NFL for scalping his own tickets..

    GOD I hope I'm wrong!

He would still be an upgrade from Mangini.

    lol

One good thing about Tice is that he will take risks. He once went for a 2-pt. conversion when trailing by 1 point in the final seconds of a game. The conversion attempt was successful and the Vikings won by 1 point.

But, wouldn't want him coaching the Jets.

I think Woody and Tanny are smarter than that... not in a "he's not a good coach" kind of way, more in a "there's a Jet fan out there who might actually take my life if we do this" kind of way

Wouldn't surprise me. The Jets after all did hire Kotite and Woody doesn't impress me much.

Mike Tice was one of the people considered when Herm left town.

    And we still chose Mangini.

Tice really isn't a BAD choice. But he wouldn't be my first. I used to get drunk with his son before he bailed.
