Didn't Pioli turn down an obscene amount of money from Paul Allen to go to Seattle a couple years back? I know he has Cleveland ties, but geezus, I can't imagine passing on that just for the privilege of going to Cleveland for less money. Good luck, I guess.
I find it entertaining when he says that crap. Herm by his own admission has his rebuild at 85% complete, and still only managed 2 wins. You just can't make this shit up.
The Browns are interested in Mangini but only in his previous position with the organization - as a waterboy.
Hey, remember when Nick Saban made you guys semi-respectable and then fled town in the night when things went wrong? That'll never happen again, right?
Mangini might be a Brown Browns Offense-TM-Browns Dec. 29 - 8:26 pm et According to the New York Daily News, Browns owner Randy Lerner said he is likely to contact Eric Mangini about filling the team's head coaching vacancy. Lerner seems to be scouring the NFL for any person with a tie to the Patriots. He's expected to interview Pats offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels and he's already been granted permission to speak with Scott Pioli, the Patriots' vice president of player personnel, about becoming the team's new GM. Revolving door QB situation. Pass dropping WRs. Terrible defense that can't defend the pass or get to the QB. Sounds like a perfect fit for Mangini.
It just dawned on me that the Jets fire guys the nicest way possible. Both Eric Mangini and Chad Pennington were shown the door. The GM and owner had the nicest things to say about them while they were leaving. Woody should watch Trump for a while.......
I'm sure he had a lot of choice on that situation. Come on now, you know he didn't have any say in that. Dude... Herm was a terrible coach. He was a motivator, that was his only good quality. He never had a plan or a goal in mind. It was go with the flow mentality and he never used his players the way he should've. Mangini came in here with a plan, he set out to accomplish that plan and built a strong foundation with his plan. He obviously had some set backs but he did get this ball moving in the right direction. That was not an easy feat that he set out to do, and he almost accomplished it. To bad he wasn't given a little more time. He will be a good coach in this league.
Mangini may turn out to be a good coach. He still has a lot to learn. I think he needs to be in a conference where he doesn't have to see Belicheck twice a year.
