Does this make the Jets the front runners?

I think that makes CBS the frontrunners.

Something tells me that Woody and Tanny have been secretly talking to Cowher for the last few weeks.

i think in a week or so we will hear some names -- please no college coaches

cowher would be a nice fit -- players really respected him in Pitt, he coaches with fire, played the game, and has a solid track record

Geez I sure hope so, it only took him 15 years to win a Super Bowl with the Steelers...

He also won the division 8 times and made 6 AFC Championship game appearances. Sign me up for that.

The very fact that he's listening to offers gives me hope. If he really was so adamantly against coming back to football, he wouldn't even bother discussing it.

Woody, open that purse of yours you rich bastard!

Dude, not for nothing, but you have barely posted here the last 2 years. Now when the Phins make the playoffs and the Jets fire their HC, you are becoming a regular poster again. It's coming across a bit like Raiderjoe.

I am not saying you are trolling, because you normally have something to contribute, but your miraculous return at this time is a bit douchebagish.

i would'nt be upset with cowher by any means...but i'm not sure he still has the fire to coach...he lost it...i just think it would be easy for him to lose it again even if its back
I'd like to look at Rex Ryan

It certainly does seem like we're clearing the decks for someone specific, doesn't it? I mean, it took less than 24 hours to give Mangini the boot and with him, the OC and DC.

That's almost a kind of "I'll take the job but I want to hand pick my own people. Oh, and by the way, leave Favre in place for one more season too, I need time to groom the heir apparent, whoever that may be."

Why would you say he doesn't have the fire anymore?

If I spent 16 years of my life working for 1 moment, which is essentially what he did, I'd want to take some time off too.

The great thing about Cowher is he doesn't need to grow as a coach anymore, he did all that with Pittsburgh. He knows what it takes to win now and he brings an immediate impact to whatever team he decides to coach for.

I just think he's being prudent and waiting for someone to make him obscenely rich. That shouldn't be difficult for the PSL master.

Geez, I'm only joking around / bustn' your guys chops alittle. You guys deserve it. I think you need to grow a pair, and just take what you've got coming....

As far as Cowher, everyone knows that he would be an excellent HC choice for the Jets, relax man...

Douchebaggish and Douchebaggery, two very underused words in the engish slanguage. That's all I have to contribute.

No one has to "take what you've got coming." There are several Phins fans who have posted here constantly for the past 2 years. They had the balls to stay and contributed to the board, even when the Phins seriously sucked. You run away like a little bitch 2 years ago, and barely post. Now that the Phins are doing well, you all of a sudden grow a pair and come back.

We have to take it from the regular Phins fans posting here (who by the way aren't doing what you are). Not from someone who only shows his face when the roles of the 2 teams are reversed, and his team is finally playing well.

You see JHTJ, you are the type of Phins fan I was referring to. A guy who regularly contributed to the board even when the Phins severely sucked last year. Not disappear like a little bitch and only show his face when things are going well.

You JHTJ, and others like you, we have to take shit from.

I heard from espn that Cowher said he wasn't really interested in coaching next year, but would consider any offers. We better offer him some serious cash to convince him.

  20. There were whispers that he would be interested in the jets job. If he has the fire to come back...I have a feeling that he's our's to lose. Especially in Big D doesnt fire Phillips
