1. With the loss the Jets get better draft position. 2. With the loss Favre's chances of returing next year are lessened. 3. With the loss Favre won't end up throwing more intereceptions than TDs (yes I know it was close). 4. Wth the loss Mangini has a better chance of being fired (I personally don't see this happening). 5. With the loss and after two huge mistakes the Jets might actually draft a football player instead of a workout warrior. 6. With the loss the Patriots don't make the playoffs (I know we don't love the Dolphins, but with Chad that have to be disliked less than the Patriots). 7. With the Philadelphia win the Jets won't go after McNabb and might actually groom or draft a franchise QB. 8. With the loss the Jets don't have to give up a second for Favre. So really, there were lots of positive to come out of today's game.
Brett is going to ride off in the sunset.. I am sick that Pennington was let go.. he was hurt often but he is a good QB... can you imagine what he would have done here this year... Favre set this team back about 5 years....
Pennington, with this coaching staff, would have gone 1-7 again. Pennington has a great running game in Miami. Pennington has a great GM in Miami. Pennington has a good coach in Miami. He would have had none of those things in New York with Mangini, so please--all of you Chad fans--stop talking about what Chad would have done in New York. Whatever he did, he did in Miami. NOT here.
God, I just hate having to explain things. I didn't say I'm glad they lost. If you're read any of my posts prior to the game I was pulling as much as anyone for a win. But, given that they lost, there are some positive implications.
Read the post below yours. If you're not intelligent enough to figure out the point of post, try not to be too critical.
On the bright side, Jason Taylor wasn't around for today's game. Once the Ravens started blowing out the Jags, I became a lot more OK with the Jets losing today. I hate the Patriots much more than the Fins and I'm glad we blocked them, regardless of how pathetic we had to look to do it.
