This will go down as the Great Jets Collapse of '08. It as that time that Woody, like Hess, decided to give up the farm and pay for every FA in the book, bring in HOF QB only to go 9-7. Mediocrity is where this franchise is at and I don't see it changing anytime soon. Next seasons schedule, is a tough one. Buckle your chin straps.
Agreed. This year was the franchise's best chance of crawling out of the shadow of the SOJ's. What did they do instead? Resurrect the SOJ's in rare form. 2010 anyone?
I know it is hard right now due to the loss, but keep the faith. Last year 1-15 was very humbling. Best of luck in 09!
heres to atleast another forty. none of us will get much more than that, the jets will kill us all from high blood pressure in our mid 70s.
LOL resurrect the SOJ's - it's true. Although this season felt different, it wasn't 4 - 12, no major injuries, just high expectations and then a colossal collapse in the end. The Jet's collapsed, the FO, everything - egg on face. Left holding an empty bag as the draft looms upon us and the SOJ raise all expectation only to drop all on their head.
Cmon to lighten up the mood a bit we can all at least look back and say this! While the Miami Dolphins go to the playoffs, one man will still be dancing with the stars. Big Ups to Jason Taylor for yet another winning season and yet another playoff game to add on his already magnificent resume.
Oh, yes they did. My spirit and hope died today. It's not just that the Jets suck. It's that they always find new and creative ways to suck. They have boldly sucked where no NFL team has sucked before. No heart, no guts, no talent. All of the free agents and a Hall of Fame quarterback did not improve the Jets' status one bit from last year. How can an 8-3 team wind up 9-7? That's something you need to work at and aspire to. It's not easy, but leave it to the Jets to find a way. Fire the coaches. Fire the front office. Woody, sell the team -- you suck, too. Just about the only thing that doesn't suck about the Jets is the Flight Crew (and I wish they would). Another year of hope and promised is crushed. And all this organization wants to do is sell PSLs instead of putting a decent product on the field. How much will you pay for a PSL? Yes fans, all of this misery can be yours! Drop dead Jets! Oh yeah, Shaun, spark one up...
Umm, most Jets fans know what 1-15 is like. Obviously, the young ones don't. Ditto those who didn't yet follow football in 1996.
That's right. Ones like him won't advertise the team with jerseys and hats and what not. Also, they sure as shit won't pay for PSLs. That'll be left for the Pollyanna ones.
