More like a dead pool... I just hope it doesn't drag on like it used to do anually up in GB. I'm hoping the man comes to his senses and hangs it up after this season. At least then, even if we're stuck with Mangina, we'll be able to move on to the future at the QB position. Brett Farve certainly isn't the future..
It seems like he already knows he's retiring to me. http://www.thejetsblog.com/2008/12/24/press-confereence-brett-favre-122408/#more-8442
He will be told to retire within 1 minute of the Dolphins game. Just kidding, hopefully we win, Bills lose, make the playoffs, do well. Then he decides to return next year and brings a Championship to NY, by throwing the winning pick 6 to Aaron Ross in Super Bowl 44. Then he will retire.
[whistles] I swear I don't see how you didn't see this coming. Favray is a drama queen. Three, four times a year he finds a headline, and the way he strung out the Packers every year should have had a bunch of alarms going off. I can't thank you guys enough. Chad has been the best thing to happen to our qb postion in a very long time. Our young qb's couldn't possibly have a better mentor, and he leads by example. Has favray helped your number two to be ready? He strikes me as too selfish and insecure, but straighten me out if I'm wrong. I wonder, did your number two get any first team reps this week?
He will announce it on Monday, once it's clear that the Jets won't make the playoffs (really though, that'll be apparent around 7 PM or so, but there's no point in a presser right after the game especially when you're not sure, and they won't be right after the game). I think Favre is done with the NFL. He realized now what he had in GB and his legacy, and how he screwed up out there with his antics. I think he'll retire and then there will be a ceremony with the Packers and his career will end that way, and he'll regret ever switching teams.
Nobody is going to straighten you out, because no one gives a flying F what you think of Favre one way or the other.
I've been wondering where you've been. My guess was that you're a bit upset with all the negativity towards Favre on here this week. Any truth to that? I've been one of the biggest Favre supporters from the beginning of this whole thing. Sadly it looks like age is catching up to him and he is burnt out at this point. I'm hoping he has at least one more great performance in him for this week. What say you?
I say I hope he has four more left. One and out in the playoffs will do nothing except cost the Jets a higher draft pick.
Yes, obviously I hope he has four more left too. At this point I cannot think beyond Sunday in terms of the Jets though. Give us one more great performance, see what happens and we'll go from there.
I really see no reason why the Jets can't beat the Dolphins. The problem is I don't see the Patriots or the Ravens losing either.
