Have to agree...last week's game against Seattle's Back up QB/RB and offensive line was the last straw for me!!
I kept reading posts on this thread and thought "hey, I'll quote that one, or how about that one. Can I quote approvingly three or more?" Nah, you'll know who I agree with from what I want to say, and the optimists won't agree. First of all, to those who complain about Jet fans saying Same Old Jets, who complained about that earlier this year, in year's past, don't tell me how to be a Jet fan or root for this team. I have followed this team for a long time. And always want them to win. But... It's not your whole life on the line if they lose. Life, your personal life, does not depend on the Jets. Yeah, it's great if they win, it would REALLY be great if they won another Super Bowl. But our lives will go on just fine if they don't. Maybe it's keeping the big picture like that that helps me try and be objective about what is really going on with this team, and by that I mean there's no room for being a silver liner. The only thing that would redeem this season is somehow getting into the playoffs and going somewhere once there. No in and lose the wild card game. The problem is the likelihood of this team, the team we saw less than two days ago go out and sh!t the bed in Seattle, doing that is between nil and none. I suppose we can talk about the mathematical, theoretical possibilities for hours. But this team is not playing like a playoff team, and by at least that measure does not deserve to be in the playoffs. Playing for draft picks is something I never get, either. Yeah, all other things being equal you want a higher rather than lower pick, but it's still a guessing game. Think of how the team traded up to pick Dewayne Robertson. I'm sure they thought that was a smart move at the time. It turned out to be not so much. In short, talking about losing a game to improve draft position is ridiculous. On the other hand, is there any real upside to winning this game? Yeah, I still hate Miami, and that should be enough to want a win. But I also figure those guys are right here who say a win will improve Mangini's fortunes. And I lost any remaining faith in him and the rest of the CS and that includes Westoff this past Sunday. F em all. But, what confidence do we have that even a loss will compel Woody to unload these clowns? Or even if he does, replace them with some coaches who can get it done? The rooting for Chad thing is also repugnant and disgraceful. I knew the Chad Fans would come to this. Knew it. At least some of them, and that's all it takes. Watching the Jets go out and lose this coming Sunday is something I'd like to do about as much as being tortured, because that is what it would be. And what happens in the coming off season? Are the team's prospects affected one way or the other by this weekend? How so? Add it all up, and right now, for the first time in a long time, first time ever?, I just don't care. SOJ's newest incarnation has done that to me. I won't say this is the worst season ever, because it's really not. But right now and the particular way it has played out has left me not caring what happens next. I really don't. Why should I?
This is a shit coaching staff that has no clue, hence you have players with no direction playing like shit. Where do you think this is going?
I'd like to see Favre go out with some dignity...at least PLAY like the Pro Bowler you were voted in as........ Of course..I have an agenda.....
im not going to be able to watch the playoffs due to being emotionally drained after knowing the jets are totally out, thats what im mad about
I just want to see a playoff game man, the fucking mets collapsed on me two years in a row (and got me arrested the third to last game this season) the knicks.........well, ok. Besides this football season went by too fast Im not ready to see it end yet. Im praying for a playoff game. :gpc: Im praying for it, not that I can recall the patriots collapsing any time recent but im hoping that sign was in anticipation of something grand.
Do you think this team deserves to be there? Can you name 3 things that have been consistent throughout the season? Learn about football a little and watch the games with the understanding and then maybe you'll see why the Jets shouldn't be there. Football games aren't just crapshoots. You can't look at a team based on one individual game, you have to look at them on the whole. I don't know how to break it down any simpler, but if you are able to view the game with more than a 6 year old's mentality of just hoping they win and not thinking about anything else then you will see why they don;t deserve to be there. I am not saying I don't want the Jets to have a playoff game this season, but if they do, based on what we have seen, they will get embarrassed on national TV and people will talk about all the other teams that should have been there. Like Favre said in the press conference, it is what it is, and right now, regardless of what happened 6 weeks ago, the Jets are is a bad football team, plain and simple.
Petrosa.. the Crea-tor. I know exactly how you fella's feel. Time and time again our coaches have failed and the players underperformed. It started a long time ago for us too.. back to Shula. He loaded us up with 19 first round picks and they were in enough disarray for us to fire him, and replace him with jimmuh the quitter. Before he quit, he forced pornstach on us... cmon, you guys HAD to be lovin' all that, you started owning us then and really you still do until WE win three or four in a row.. for those counting, you now have 5 in a row. It's like death by waterboarding... begging for the death that never comes just the next loser coach. Another new hope.. only to be dashed upon the rocks again... but not this year, this year we hit the jackpot, the same one you guys had so many years ago. I cannot tell you how wonderful it is to be a Dolphin fan right now.. we were the worst EVER last year and now we arrive at game 16 to play for the division title. It is my serious regret that we are not playing YOU for the title, my consolation was that if "we" lost, at least the division didn't go to the patsies.. well you screwed that up dintcha, now we HAVE to win And say, you can't POSSIBLE want that either right??? so you have to root for us too.. cmon, you know you want to cheer for Chad, you know it. Come visit us at ThePhins.com and we will welcome you first, then teach you our fight song.. we stole it ya know, but it rocks anyway, ull love it! Peace brothers, I hope for a well fought, injury free game, go football!
I'm 42 now and have followed this team since around 1979-1980 and have seen many epic failures and downright lousy seasons and coaches come and go. This hurts just as much as any of them. To be in this position after being 8-3 and coming off two incredible wins against strong contenders and then crapping the bed like this against inferior opposition is as shocking a turn of events as I've seen. I can't understand why it falls off the map so quickly and that has to fall on the coaching staff. We have been injury free for the most part and have played a weak schedule. I'm now convinced this coaching staff has to go. We have plenty of talent on this team. The scheme on defense is too soft and not aggressive enough. This whole read, react, stay in your lane and contain philosophy is taken to the extreme. Yes, you can't just run around nilly willy out there but at SOME point you have to just physically beat your opponent and get after the ball. The players are thinking too much instead of playing on instinct. Look at the top defenses and they are getting after the offense putting the O off balance and not letting them get comfortable. Offensively, this team has major weapons but can NEVER establish a rhythym or an identity. They abandon the run early when they get down even with plenty of time. Slant patterns and 3 step drops which take advantage of Favre's arm and have been effective when used have disappeared from the playbook all of a sudden. Keller who was great for 3-4 games is now never thrown to. Washington when he gets 5-8 rushing attempts a game ALWAYS makes something happen but gets one carry against Seattle. Jones runs effectively and then they go empty backfield telegraphing their intentions. When was the last time you saw play action?? Or a rollout to give Favre a little more time??
You Jets fans are retarded. Like Robert Downey Jr. said in Tropic Thunder. "Never go full retard." Well after listening to some of you clowns you are going "Full Retard"
Good point, well argued. What exactly are your reasons...you know, you kinda didn't state any. So, who exactly is full retard? You argue like one.
Nice one bud. Seriously, do you want to be taken seriously? If so, make an argument. Anyone can spew shit through a keyboard, but when you do that, why should anyone care? By the way, definately isn't a word smart guy.
