Lets come to an agreement. Yes, things look grim, very grim. Barring a miracle, we won't make the playoffs (and probably don't deserve it anyway with the way we are playing). But, it's still possible, and our game in week 17 has meaning.

As bad as it has looked since week 13, lets hold off on all the fire this guy, cut that guy crap (not saying it isn't well deserved, but that is beside the point), and just sit back and watch. If the jets lose to the dolphins at home, or win and don't get the help we need, then we will have a few long months to bitch and moan all we want. So for one more week at least, lets try to enjoy jets football.

We need a miracle, but you never know, go get em Jets, take out the phins and give us a shot.

Well, New England has only beaten Buffalo 10 straight times. I like our odds.

I agree. They're due! Come on, what are the odds one team beats another 11 times in a row?

Seriously though, this thread is right. We need to wait until the season's over before we figure out a good course of action.

They're playing to be the spoilers. To keep NE out of the playoffs. Wouldn't that be motivation enough for the Jets ? (Well maybe not this year's Jets).

I am kinda starting to like buffalos chances. I dunno why, maybe its how they played against denver? or maybe I just cant accept not making the playoffs this year. I get this feeling they are going to be the team to put the final dagger into NE's heart.

I am here thinking, please buffalo just give us one more chance. I am holding out some hope.

That isn't the problem. The problem is that the Jets team that has shown up the last 4 weeks will just lose to the Fins anyway.

NE and Baltimore aren't going to lose though. But let's say they do. It's been 4 weeks where they've needed to win games, certainly last week alarm bells should have gone off, all the room for error was gone. There's no way this team overlooked the Seahawks after losing to the Broncos in a laugher, getting taken to the woodshed by the Niners, getting a miracle over the Bills, and then getting stifled and embarrassed against the Seahawks JUST last week, who had backups playing. How the heck is THAT team going to beat the Fins?

This team has no guts, no heart. Frankly I think the players just quit on Mangini. Everyone hates him anyway, why bother playing for him? What a mistake. 3 years ago I was pumped for this guy, and posters and the media were saying he was too inexperienced and a terrible hire. I ignored all that because I just wanted Herm gone and I thought maybe we made a great hire. I was optimistic. Now I realize it was the SOJ and I was a fucking retard for letting myself get hooked again. How stupid can I be? I've seen this over and over and over again and I didn't realize it? I figured this year, this year the other shoe would drop against the Titans or Pats, but it just didn't. We got to 8-3! THAT's when this year's SOJ decided to kick in. See, we'd gotten too used to losses being sprinkled in throught the season, that would be too obvious. They needed to collapse monumentally, makes the heart break all the greater if you build it up higher!

The Jets have done all they can to need a miracle to make the playoffs in the final week. There was really no other way to go about it this season.

I'm hoping the Jets win. This is pretty much it for me as a fan. If the Jets can win the SB I can quit watching football altogether. I love football, but this'd be the culmination of decades of frustration rooting for gang green. I just wouldn't care anymore. It'd be great if every single game ends with a huge comeback win too, similar to the magical 96 Yankees team. I've still watched baseball here and there afterwards, but I just didn't care anymore after that, that Yankees playoffs and win was just too good.

Jax can definitely beat Baltimore, jax gave Indy all they can handle and Indy is better than Baltimore. I give Bal credit for taking care of business but they aren't a juggernaut, they have beaten mostly bad teams. They have proven to be better than us in that regard but they certainly can still lose on Sunday.

I don't know which is worse. Beating the Phins and putting NE into the playoffs or losing to the Phins and putting them in instead. It's a no-win day no matter how you look at it.

Hold on now. It's a win if NE loses to Buffalo and we beat the Dolphins.

But even if we squeak through that, then what? I can't think of another AFC team who wouldn't kick our ass right now.

Buffalo didn't have anything to play for against Denver either, but they did pretty well there.
We have to hold out hope until the Jets are officially eliminated, which can't be until about 7:15 on Sunday.
