That would be awesome to get Crabtree, but no way does that happen, we defintely need a big reciever though, no small ones cotchery would be an excellent #2 at this stage of his career

Any other big time receivers in the draft this year? Dez Byrant from OSU?

I think he'd be a great slot receiver actually, maybe have Clowney or a free agent/draftee and Cotchery on the outside.

When did he drop pass after pass yesterday? he dropped the one ball in double coverage w/a defender's arm in his way. Coles is still a very good WR, he just needs a QB to throw him the football.

I agree. I think he might have dropped one early too, but he also made a couple of circus catches.

Forget it junc. While this is one of those occasions that you and I agree, you're not going to find a lot of other support around here. People want to hate Coles. That's not going to change.

Everyone needs to stop overreacting here. Can a guy drop some balls and not be labeled the worst receiver in the history of the NFL? He is NOT Justin Mcstonehands......

I do agree however that he is obviously not the same receiver he once was. However he did make a very nice catch on the Favre bomb (the only bomb caught this year). We do need a solid #1 WR, someone tall that can go up for passes. But, Coles has been a great WR for years give the guy a break.

Trade what we got and get Michael Crabtree.

Are you people kidding me? He was double covered and never had the dam ball to begin with it was bouncing around like a pin ball.

He was short enough to blow Brady without bending his knees (which was hurting the other WR's), so Brady learned that Welker can handle balls.

Nah. Welker's a tough little fucker, and if he was on any other team he'd be one of my favorite players to watch in this league. He's the only WR in this league that can substitute a running game when the Pats offense is whole/together.

Never in my wildest dreams did I think Welker would have tied for NFL league leader in receptions for 2007(112), and in 2008(109) he leads the league in receptions going into week 17 .. Sweet .. I love me some Wes Welker ..

I was genuinely happy for him -- Welker never could have posted numbers in Miami like he has in NE. But man, we could have used him this year. Someone called Rich Camarillo "Bizarro Wes Welker."

I agree with the beginning, but c'mon, are you blind? Did you not see the ball in his hands, no interference, and he just bobbled it away, we had a chance for a comeback, and somebody ruined it, and it wasn't Favre, or anyone else on the team.

Good post. I do agree with the sentiment that it seems like we have two number two receivers.

People will hate this, but I say get Chad Johnson. And remember, they said Moss would never work in NE.

You guys are forgetting the drop that Coles had on the in route that proceeded the 2nd and 21. I don't put it all on Coles though. The offense is too predictable and the coaching staff apparently can't teach good route running. The Franks drop was more critical I think. Except of course for the 4th down game changer. We really got a bad break with that weather. The Seahawks knew how to adjust the snow and their routes, we didn't. We moved the ball early in the game when the field wasn't as much of an issue.

Yeah, we'll give you a 6th rounder for him. Or you could just make it easier on both teams and cut him...

Coles and Cotchery are both number 2's.....This team needs a difference-making WR

I think most of us agreed at the beginning of the season that Coles was not a true number 1 anymore. We just kinda lived with it.

It's not so much that I hate the guy because I don't..... what I take issue with is the running of the mouth as opposed to production. He had 2 drops last week including one that resulted in a bizarre interception......
