We have actually had a nice bounce back this season. The HC has some more he needs to learn, but that is what happens when you bring on someone as green as he was. It is a fact of football. Given the time I think he's going to come around and learn from his mistakes. After three seasons I see far more of that in him than I ever did in Herm Edwards. People throwing the arrogant title around Mangini have awfully short memories. As disappointing as it is to see us drop some very winnable games and blow our shot at the division, we did a few good things this year. I'd like to see some kinda of change at OC or DC for next year, and now we'll likely be looking for a QB again.
Umm, his whole post was a joke. Ease up a bit. I hope you were kidding, but it's not obvious in your post.
I would think Woody is a bit worried about the current state of this team. 80% + of the fans want the HC fired. His PSL's have NOT brought in the revenue he thought. High probability of his team not having a home playoff game. Probability of his team NOT making the playoffs entirely. His fan base is currently disappointed and have had their wallets and hearts ripped from them in an economic downturn. This will keep the sale of the next wave of PSL's to another minimum. How can he afford not to fire the coach? The "we are improved from 4 wins to 9 or 10" argument is not gonna fly. The dagger sticking from our chests will be a constant reminder of a season that began with hope. I did not like the speculative arguments about firing Mangini or the one's about of his replacement, but after the recent shameful events, I have changed my mind. To gain any iota of respect back, Woody will be forced to sign a high profile coach to lead the Jets next season. This will in turn bring back some of the revenue he is looking to lose. Remember, this is a business after all, ask Chad Pennington and/or Brett Favre about that. This scenario gets worse if we lose to the Fish on Sunday.
No shot does Tanny get fired. He has made all the right moves. He went from not having a single pro bowler on the team last year, to 7 this year. The personnel is basically there--thats tannys job. The coaching is whats the issue. Let Tanny find his coach, and well take it from there.
